So, today, 9 July, I went there to get a coffee. I arrived around 3:30pm and waited in the queue. There were only me and the older lady before me. The manager type of woman (I know she is in the supervisory role or even the owner because I have been visiting this shop occasionally since they opened) was serving the older lady and explaining different types of cookies they had because the lady customer has very low vision. While I was waiting in the line, a group of three younger Aussie customers walked in. I continued to wait in the line and moved to my left when the lady customer was helped by the manager to her seat outside. The group of three proceeded to look at the gelatos. For the reasons unbeknown to me, they were then served while I was still waiting in front of the cashier/counter to be served. They were served with their gelatos, then asked anything else, they ordered a chia latte, and then I had to move to my left again because the girl behind the counter was then finalising the group’s payment. Throughout this whole time, I appeared to be invisible to all the staffs in the shop. I don’t know if it had anything to do with my ethnicity (I’m Asian). I didn’t ask why I was bypassed but I don’t think I would risk of paying $4.5 to be...
Read moreI attended Allora 07/12/23 and the gelato was amazing but sadly the service wasn’t.
I asked about the chocolate gelato and the girl working checked her list and told me there was more out the back. I ordered half chocolate and half pistachio.
She then stood there scraping the chocolate gelato tray until my order had 1/3 chocolate. She then turned to the other girl asking and the 2nd girl told her to ‘scrape it over’. -clearly to make it look like there was no hole in the middle. I looked straight at her and she knew I heard her.
The first girl then proceeded to fill up 2/3 of the pistachio.
Again, for context, I ordered half chocolate and half pistachio after being told she would get more chocolate from out the back.
I understand these girls don’t own the place so I would never speak badly of the company, especially because the gelato was delicious.
But poor, poor quality of service for such an expensive product and you’ve definitely lost what could have been a regular customer. Very...
Read moreHighly recommend this place for anyone with a sweet tooth or not. The flavors and customer service is quite exceptional. Adam who runs the show in the background is a great person to meet. Their staff are equally enthusiastic to help you choose the right flavor. The gelato is not only divine (trust me... I eat a lot of gelato and know a good one), you cannot go wrong. The combinations along with the most generous of serves are reasons enough to go back. From eco-friendly cups to opportunities to taste all flavors before you choose are just added bonuses. Even more if you think you have a great flavor in mind, talk to Adam and share your idea, it may just come to life too. They make all their gelato themselves with tons of love and hard work. It shows in the quality. Ample parking in the center so no dramas of having to rush in and out. Give them an opportunity and I'm certain you will return for more...
