Went to Little Red Dumpling at Newmarket a few weeks ago and ordered the Vegetarian Xiao Long Bao. I was eating them and they tasted ok however then I bit into one of them and discovered that one was meat (pork I think). I am vegetarian and haven't eaten meat in years so this was quite shocking and upsetting. I called staff over and she said she will check with the chef and took it away. She went to the kitchen but never came back to apologise or tell me what the chef said (waited about 20 minutes for her to return). I then decided I would just go to the counter to talk to them and leave. She told me the total and did not even apologise until I brought it up, questioning what the chef said and telling them that I was upset because I do not eat meat. She then confirmed that it was meat and apologised however did not even comp my meal! I was too upset to argue about paying for my meal and so I just paid and left. Was not happy with the experience and even unhappier with how they dealt with...
Read moreI’ve been here 3 times now, first time I was impressed, good food for a reasonable price. I recommend ordering delivery as they prioritize all delivery orders over actual diners.
Second time the serving staff couldn’t keep up with a full restaurant and all the Uber orders, waiting 30mins for part of our order while we are the rest, to then find out they handed it to another customer who had been there for less time but complained and ours was another 15mins away. Cancelled the order.
Today was the last time we will come here, they weren’t busy by any means but we still watched customers seated after us being served food that looked like the same as what we’d ordered. When we told them we wanted to pay for our one item and leave (25mins after ordering) they said sorry, gave us 5% off for it but it’s pretty poor form they can’t even keep...
Read moreHonestly the frozen gyoza I bought from coles/wws taste so much better than theirs. All their veggies, dumplings and noodles are fully covered by garlic and salt which left me a super 'nice' breath. Terribly slow service and the staff seems so switched off. She didn't know if we have had the food or not. We were kept waiting for more than 45 mins to get 3 plates of dumplings. Come on, it's the easiest thing because we all know they're premade and all you need to do is just steam or pan fry them. Again they're not worth the wait, not even the average taste. I'm sure if the kitchen staff can chitchat less and work harder, there will be less starving customers. Won't recommend this place to anyone and won't...
