Have been an absolute fan of the Gharnem group since the early eighties after moving to Brisbane. My go to for visitors, birthdays & many other occasions in Brisbane (especially cocktails & nibbles at sunset at Portside) including visits to Melbourne 🥳 . Loved the atmosphere created & the owners & staff have always been generous of spirit, welcoming with my favourite foods & drinks. I convinced my two friends to change restaurants last Saturday afternoon & come to my favourite Byblos Brisbane - I was absolutely shocked at the abrupt & hostile reception from the hostess after my friends (one very ill but positive) biked in from Sandgate to meet up & share time together. Maybe 🤔 on reflection it was because we waited to see someone on arriving & as there wasn’t we used our initiative & took a seat as there were many spare tables which is unusual. The other staff were lovely. I feel she must have been stressed & needed a target - though it dampened our spirits as it affected all of us I hope she finds the necessary support to bring joy into serving those who support this joyful generous family business 🥂🙏🥂 My thanks to the waiter who introduced me to a very special cocktail it was delicious & beautifully presented.

Saturday evening dinner, booked on the same afternoon. Party was 5 adults and 4 kids, seats in a nice booth, decor and restaurant in general very nice and well presented. Have grown up on Sydney Lebanese and home cooked Lebanese so didn’t have big expectations on visiting one in Brisbane. Opted to just order dishes individually instead of banquets so we could order the less than usual dishes. The usual dips and meat, pickles, makanek, quail, kibbeh, kibbeh nayeh, arnabeet, jawaneh, kafta, fatteh, fatoush and tabouli amongst others No complaints regarding quality or tastes. Only small things I’d alter to my preference would be batata harra not so small cut(pretty annoying and felt like we needed a spoon to eat). Quail finished with a bit more char (it was very nice and juicey though), a bit more seasoning on the kibbeh nayeh and the fresh bread unsure how fresh, seemed not have that flexibility and chew of fresh Lebanese bread.but these are being picky to suit myself It was a pleasant visit in a pleasant venue and no complaints regarding quality of the service..all served quite fast also Shukran ktir

Came here at the recommendation of friends and to try the kibbeh nayeh (in photograph) and in a nutshell I enjoyed myself most thoroughly. It was clean, wait staff were informative and knowledgeable with just enough attentiveness - the food was entertaining as well as true to the authenticity of Lebanese food and the venue decor was lovely. There is a good ratio of indoor and outdoor dining with cubicles available too. I dined with my friend and we had the 'Platter for two' @ $79 which showcased a pleasing variety of dishes picked from around the whole menu. The venue is opened out to the Brisbane River and lends a pretty backdrop of river-life. We booked our table for dinner for 6pm (it got really busy as the night progressed and we booked on a Wednesday!). All in all I thought Byblos was affordable and a perfect place to try authentic Lebanese fare with good hospitality. TIP: If you drive and park here at Portside don't forget you can validate your parking ticket here for 3 hours worth of parking :)

**Update. Managment don't care, don't reply to emails, or phone messages, maybe they don't get passed on. Not what it was. It's sunk big big big time..YOUR STAFF DESERVE BETTER...Maddi~ or Maddie, uncertain of spelling. Was amazing, on the ball, knew what was up and didn't miss a beat. She really is an asset to the place....

This may be brutally and long winded, my right to exercise my view. Now the truth, just bloody disappointed. The restaurant floor was soaked where we sat, not wet but a film of water across the flooring🙃😵. So as a result musty, and unpleasant. Im not one who complains, yet this is what the reviews are for to tell the truth, when something is unhygienic. I Beleive you should know what your getting before you go to this place. My opinion it's not the end of the world to myself, others I seated with thought was odd nothing was done to clean or tidy it. I live in mud and dirt for a living. Not unbearable but not nice at same time.

Amenities need a tidy up, just strained and untidy but no care about it unfortunately, when mentioned to barstaff. Would imagine was really nice when first set up. Tables rock when you use the cutlery. Had to apply a piece of plastic on my keyring to steady it Wine glasses needed a clean... won't ramble on further. It was just bulls##t and woeful.

I am no connoisseur, and I eat out least three times a week. I honestly don't really know what Is what with food. I do know what I like, order similar meals at all places I go. Willing to give a benefit if one small things out. This place is a shambles. I don't expect to much of the food I do eat. I expect Passion and love. You don't like your job don't dish that rubbish out. Be honest about what your doing, and be accountable.

Really the chefs have given up if that's how they serve and plate the food. So much potential no one seems to really care, young woman who was assisting and delivering meals had an attitude that stinks, hardly audible words about what was what, and would plonk anywhere on the table, regardless of if we said " oh that's mine". Young lad that topped the drinks up and was on service seemed only other one who cared. No maître d'hôtel or Host Waiter checked in to see how we liked what we received.

So just honest about my perspective Tasteless food, no texture. Overpriced for the quality of alcohol and food. Couple hundred dollars for us. Desert and company was the only thing done right. One extra star for the location, and the great young host we had.

Apparently it's not a bad place other occasions. Just failed to...

We visited Byblos, Hamilton for a special Mother’s Day dinner, and while it started with promise, the experience unfortunately fell short.

The atmosphere was fantastic — from the stylish decor to the upbeat DJ and waterfront setting, it felt like the perfect venue for a celebration. We were warmly welcomed on arrival, and a lovely young waiter promptly greeted us at our table with water and menus, setting a great tone for the evening.

Then, things changed. Our waiter was suddenly replaced by another young man who didn’t introduce himself or offer the same courtesy. We ordered drinks, but were met with a flat, disinterested attitude. We tried to stay upbeat, but he made no effort to engage or provide attentive service. He disappeared for long stretches — and while busy, he was noticeably attentive to other tables, especially the one next to us, ensuring their glasses were never empty while bypassing us repeatedly.

We had to flag him down 3 times to take our order, which was met with visible impatience. From arrival to final course, the entire dinner dragged out over two hours (we believe this was also due to the waiters long absences) Water glasses remained empty throughout. Having to ask for top ups if left for longer than 20 mins. There was only 1 occasion in which we did not have to ask for a refill. The food was okay, and portion sizes were fair for the premium banquet, though in hindsight, the less expensive option may have offered better value.

What truly left a bad taste was the lack of care in service from this young man. Every other staff member prior was wonderful. The service by this young man truly dampened the night.

Sadly, I don’t see myself returning, nor would I recommend it to others. I have no issue paying premium prices for great food and exceptional service — but on this occasion, I felt both undervalued and...

Pretty sad experience, left hungry after spending over $1000. I came here for our companies work Christmas party, we paid well over $1000 for our lunch, and most people left hungry, the few people who didn't go home had to go and get something to eat. Most only had a couple of drinks, while some people opted to have none, which meant most of our money went towards food. There were 14 people altogether, which meant we had to have the banquet menu. What that included was only 3 dishes each of the starters, and just 2 for the mains for the whole table. That's it. This just wasn't enough for the 14 people that were there. On top of that, we didn't have adequate spacing for the amount of people that we booked, we were jammed into a grouping where people had to sit at the corners of the table just to eat what little food they had. There was an incredible amount of back and forth from staff and kitchen just to tell one of our guests with an allergy whether the food they were serving him was safe to eat or not. Not sure if the server was new, or what was happening there, but it seemed very unorganized for something so important, and such a highly priced restaurant. There was a beautiful breeze outside, and the temperature was perfect. Which meant all the doors were closed, and we had to sit inside in cold air conditioning. Honestly, would not come back, and I wouldn't even be able to recommend this place to someone that I...
