Cheeky Poke Xprs (Greenslopes) — Restaurant in Brisbane City

First time eating here & it can only get better. I had eaten at another venue previously & the food was amazing then when I found out there was one on the Southside I decide to get some to go.

Unfortunately the quality of the food was no where near what I had previously which was super disappointing. The edamame was over cooked or had been sitting there for quite some time as it was completely drenched in the sauce, super soft & just incredibly spicy - the portion is no where near what you get when dining in as well nor was it filled to the top of the container which doesn’t make sense considering how much it costs.

The kid’s Chicken Risoni Soup was a great portion & pretty good but again someone went heavy handed on the pepper that my son & I couldn’t really eat or taste it properly. I don’t understand why there was so much pepper in it seeing as it’s for a child.

The staff were very friendly & lovely, I ordered via the App but you can order at the counter - took no more than 15 mins.

There is a small carpark in the vicinity & free street parking in the surrounding streets. Access is available for those with mobility vehicles & prams - there is no seating available whatsoever as this is an express store.

There is room for improvement for sure but will probably stick to the other store I’ve been...

Wanted to try Cheeky again after a really bad experience a few years ago where I had completely written off this business. Tried it again tonight and it was better than last time but still average to below average at best. We got the build your own Nachos. The service was quick and some aspects of the dish were good. I got the tofu bowl, the tofu was great, presentation was great, the fresh ingredients (radishes, jalapeños and chilies) were delicious.

However, there was so much siracha mayonnaise on our food that it physically made my partner and I feel sick. There was so much that we couldn’t finish our food because we were beginning to feel so unwell from the mayonnaise. There wasn’t nearly enough sesame soy coating to combat the mayonnaise.

I don’t think I’d eat here again, which is disappointing cause I did really want to like this place as I am vegetarian and they seem to have good healthier options.

I think that although the prices can seem a bit much, given the fact that a lot of the ingredients (beside the mayo) seem to be really fresh, so the pricing seems fair.

I feel like if you want a healthier alternative to some dishes (any really really like the taste of mayonnaise) this place can...

Updated to four stars Following this review, Cheeky Poke reached out to me to apologise and provide some detail around the challenges that caused the problem. Cheeky Poke Xprs Greenslopes has been impacted by COVID staff changes which is what's causing the issues with wait time etc. Cheeky Poke generally has always been amazing, healthy and completely delicious and I love their customer service in response to this issue. Nice!

Original review: This place is weird. Ordered online, got a confirmation saying would be ready in 14 - 29 mins, waited until an appropriate time to leave; arrive and they haven’t started making it, despite literally nobody else here in the queue.
