Although we've frequented Charlie's in Clontarf over the years, this was our first visit to the Greenslopes store.
The premises is simple in design; tables inside and out, with the counter and display cabinet at the rear of the triangular shaped room. Take a seat and menu, select your meals and drinks, then order at the register.
The menu is extensive, covering multiple bowls, smoothies, toast options, burger & wrap options, salad options, and more. We eventually decided on pumpkin soup, the Chick'n Licken wrap, smashed avo toast, a serve of sweet potato fries, a Snickers smoothie, and a Pina Colada smoothie.
Everything we selected was great. The wrap was fresh, hot, and flavoursome, as were the smashed avo, fries, and pumpkin soup. The smoothies were thick, creamy, and bursting with flavour. And, best of all, Charlie's focus is on healthy food, so very little of what you buy in store is bad for you. Even the smoothies, filled with fruit, nuts, cacao, dates, etc., are nutritious and healthy.
Service was great and both ladies working the counter, as well as the manager/owner, were chatty and approachable. They added to an already positive experience.
In summary, Charlie's Raw Squeeze is always a great choice when seeking a healthy and affordable meal option. It's nice to treat yourself without sacrificing health and nutrition. Keep up...
Read moreOur experience here was...fine. But not memorable.
I ordered the Snickers Bowl, expecting it to be loaded with lots of cool vegan treats, and found it a little underwhelming. My mother, who had come with me, ordered the Salted Caramel and agreed. Both bowls tasted okay, but tasted more like overripe banana than any of the intended flavours. And the toppings didn't have much to do with Snickers either. A handful of peanuts was the closest we got to this much-loved chocolate brand. I've made better bowls at home, and I don't say this with spite - I just wish that CRS was like it used to be.
Service was also quite slow, but I don't blame the actual staff considering that there was only one member operating the entire cafe - meaning that they had to make all the coffee, drinks, bowls, nice creams and salads. They absolutely have to employ more members, it's just not fair on this one poor person to make everything.
I have a feeling that the quality of the cafe has downgraded over the past year. We went here in 2018 for a nice family outing, and the acai bowls were wonderful. It's quite disappointing really, considering all the happy...
Read moreMy first time here hoping it would be my new Regular lunch spot. Unfortunately when we arrived the staff were really unpleasant in particular the girl who took our order (pink/blonde hair). She seemed very annoyed or was having a bad day but her body language while taking our order was very off putting as we felt we were an annoyance. We were told there would be a little bit of a wait for our food which we had no problems waiting for. However after everyone else at the table had received their food and finished eating before mine came out, I noticed that every time the Uber eats tablet or menu log order came up after our order was placed, they would prioritise that order over my simple avo on toast. Not only this but we also noticed the girls were NOT wearing gloves when handling the food. One of the girls was touching her face and wiping her hands on the back of her shorts then handling the food without washing her hands. Im very disappointed and dissatisfied with my experience. Just wanted to pass this on to management. The other Food was...
