Provocative condescending incompetent staff who are so immature, smug and malicious that they will wrap your food in 10 tablespoons of oil after going there regularly for 2 years, when you ask for it to be well drained, then argue petty semantics with you to take the heat off themselves. The owner is full of excuses and covers for them even with pictures supplied. Avoid this place the boys are not only bigots who will avoid checking with you if they have your order ready when they come out and ask, and only go to the whites to ask them, then leave your food sitting in the Bain Marie to get cold. They will then argue with you and make up rubbish misdirectionism nonsense to try to erase doing so. Rubbish quality food, rubbish attitudes and beyond cringey concept of customer service. The owner went on a rant trying to blame the sudden poor quality of food (but no plausible excuse or meaningful apology on the offensive attitude) on the weather…. yes, the weather…. as though this was the very first Brisbane winter in all of recorded history. When I reminded them 3 times that other fish and chips shops aren’t selling food DROWNED in oil, they deliberately evaded addressing this valid point. This confirmed my resolve to permanently boycott them for a growing list of concerning reasons. Avoid at all costs- they are unevolved smarmy emotional terrorist toddler children who don’t appreciate or deserve your money. The only thing they have going for them is a lack of other fish n chips shops in the area besides Eagle Junction and Stafford, and the only thing they’re brilliant at is woeful disingenuous wafer thin apologies while changing absolutely nothing and cherry-picking which aspects of your legitimate complaint...
Read moreBrisbane nearly emptied my wallet in the three rainy winter days that I visited. My wife and I, looking for a final meal, wanted something low-key and economical. We got off the airtrain at Wooloowin and walked the ten minutes to Christies Too. (The best decision we made in Brisbane.) As we spotted Christies, the rain stopped, the clouds peeled back and a single ray of sunshine radiating from-what appeared to be-the heavenly throne room, shone on the blessed restaurant. We stepped inside. The two guys working were very helpful, and the food was very reasonably priced-I almost felt bad paying so little! The food was brought out in a paper bundle about the size of a small child. We feasted. And feasted. And, after changing into elastic waistband pants, feasted some more. More even then the "American" sized quantity was the quality. The fish was perfection. We had prawns and pineapple fritter too, because why not. They were equally as good. We ended up staying in Brisbane another night, returning again to Christies for dinner. There was even more food during round two, and a lower bill to boot! If I ever return, I'm getting off the train at Wooloowin and stopping by for another meal. As I write this, tears of joy are...
Read moreThis establishment is a must visit. 👌🤙👍👍 Definitely a pearla choice for seafood snacks, burgers and chips at great prices.
The fish fillets are succulent and flavour-some, firm yet they fall apart in your mouth. Calamari has me at a loss of words, just YEP... Top notch. Seafood bites are so, so juicy. A burger will give you life again after a big night out. The snack range is good, lots of options and always a good add on to your meals. Absolute qaulity considering the distance from the water, excellent tasting, generous servings and very well priced.
The young gentleman who run Christies Too certainly take pride in providing customers with a high standard of culinary excellence, with friendly attitudes and a great respect for thier work.
From an outsiders perspective almost seems effortless as they just do what they do, and continue to hold a high standard in sending you off with a beautiful feed. I would assume that it's in there blood and years of this have allowed them to master the seafood game, possibly without realising just how good this place is.
Next time you want some fish and chips, pull in and grab a feed from Christies Too.
You may have just found a...
