My friend and I were waiting to be served at the counter as a man faffed about in front of us. Eventually a young girl who had been serving someone else came over. She was lovely and helpful and made sure she got our order right. We paid and went to wait. The young girl went in to finish another order before starting on making the iced coffee drink for my friend. We stood at the collection area and watched the man slowly sweeping the floor and again just kind of faffing around. He then turned to the coffee machine and started making a coffee. I thought great - he is making my coffee. But no - he made the coffee and called out to someone else that was standing away from us and gave it to him. He then went back to sweeping slowly. The young girl bought over her drink and then went to get the food organised. At this point my friend said - why don’t you get a seat and I will bring it over. So I went to sit down and waited (was around 15 mins by now). My friend eventually walked over with the food and her drink and no coffee. She didn’t realise I had t gotten it. So I went back and spoke to the girl and asked - she checked the orders and the coffee had been taken off the order. She apologized and started to make it for me. I commented that I had seen the man sweeping and taking his time doing things and was there a manager I could mention this to as I was very unimpressed with his attitude and work ethic. She told me that was the manager. I said “oh I understand”. I was quite shocked because he was acting as if he was a surly teenager.
So to the owner - you need to address this. It shouldn’t take 20 mins to get a takeaway coffee at an airport while a manager ignores you and sweeps the floor. The young girl (I wish I got her name) was lovely and very helpful. She displayed the work ethic I would expect from a manager.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Coffee Royal in Brisbane Airport. I asked for a glass of wine and was told they were “only serving beers and that there were no wine glasses available while I could clearly see glasses right in front of me.
This felt dismissive, dishonest, and completely unprofessional. Unfortunately, the interaction also gave me the impression of racial profiling, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. No customer should ever feel singled out or treated differently based on race.
Airports are international gateways and should be places of inclusivity and respect. I hope management seriously addresses this issue, as no traveller should go through an...
Read moreTee, the exceptional bartender, kept working like a HERO when a storm shut down Brisbane airport and over a thousand passengers were stranded. Tee and his team worked like a well-oiled machine to serve hundreds and hundreds of demanding patrons in a professional, fast and friendly manner, even extending their opening hours when it became apparent that the storm was going to last longer. Tee also makes a great Mojito. Coffee Royal offers lots of tables and benches with powerpoints and usb charging, a large food menu, and a huge range of alcoholic drinks. Tee & Tayler both saved everyone's evening during the electrical storm. With staff this good, definitely a place to chill out when waiting...
