Really poor experience here prior to our flight out on the morning of Friday, 10th May. We ordered some things for a "quick" breakfast - we thought because the items we ordered were premade in the window, it would be really quick - how wrong we were..... It was not busy at all, and there appeared to be a number of staff available. We waited a good 10 minutes before they even took our items out of the window to put in their grilling/heating machine. By this time, several customers who were served well after had already received their. We then watched as the lady who put the items in the oven, removed them and placed on the prep bench - she then proceeded to look at her watch several, go back to the kitchen, come back, look at her watch again, and then remove her apron and grab a drink bottle and go sit at a table. She was obviously "killing time" before going on her break. Our food then sat on the prep bench for at least another 10 minutes. We watched multiple staff walk past it, but no one bothered to see who it was for, or pack it up. We tried to get the attention of the young lady serving, but she was too intent on taking new orders, so my wife then had to line up behind those ordering. By the time she got to the front of the line, a male staff member had finally decided to start packing our meal, which by this time would have been stone cold. My wife explained what had happened, and that we did not want food that had been sitting open on bench for over 10 minutes. She and the male staff member agreed to heat up fresh items, but they didn't really seem enthusiastic about doing it or apologetic for what had happened. So we had to wait another 5 minutes for fresh items to be heated and packed - over 20 minutes for a "take away" pre-made item, at an airport terminal is just unacceptable. When we eventually got to eat our "quick" breakfast, my ham, cheese and tomato brioche was less than average, tasteless and small. Really disappointed with...
Read moreIt was my first time at Brisbane domestic airport in some time and I came across the new venue called the Common. Beautiful marketing, seating and food. I ordered a burger that was pre-made and just had to be toasted and a coffee for $24 a few minutes but 30 mins later I still hadn’t received my food, that should have just been a quick toast up. Also it was 4pm and their store was only half full and with plenty of staff working. After 30mins I got up and asked if they could please check on the food order for my table number. The chef said they didn’t know and helpfully told me that I had to leave my table and wait in line at the front cover to check on the status of my food. I did that and after another 5mins I spoke to someone who said they would investigate it. Then 40mins later I received my food item, from the cabinet. They did apologise me and gave me a comp bottle of water but still it was a pretty unpleasant experience for such a simple grab and go request. My message to management is to ensure your staff realise the context that they are working and that people have flights to get to. Things need to be efficient and all team members should be able to...
Read moreWhy is there no zero star? Got served by a boy. Description only, not a judgement, a very thin tall young boy. He didn't look anyone in the eye, didn't tell you the price, at 1 point put his hand out and did a crab open claw close claw with his fingers, without a word. I put the card in his hand and he said no... then grabbed the table number. When closing up they had just given my wife a large wine then said you will need to leave in 10 mins. We said um that's a 250ml wine can't slam that down can we have either a little more time or can we please have a coffee cup or something so you can pack up. NO SERVICE WHATSOEVER and just said you need to leave now. I stated he was rude and he needed to be less aggressive and he said and you need to go... im not being rude was his next comment... disgusting servi... wait it is...
