We loved going here, loved all the staff for over 10 years until Debie (Debbie with 1 B as she so vehemently stated) We wonder how much business has been lost at Corinda Tavern because of her. She is rude, nasty and spiteful all over a mistake one of the staff had made with our meals. Instead of working with us to fix it, she got defensive, came to our table twice trying to start an argument with us and talking aggressively over us that we just stopped talking, then as the grand finale, starts yelling at us over the bar from where we were sitting and trying to get us to retaliate to her behaviour. Really shocked by this experience, she is obviously over the industry. We left with only a few bites taken of our meal. She’s really horrible, I refuse to go back but my partner dropped in again, recently and said he had a great time with the lovely staff behind the bar but as soon as Debie turned up he was waiting for a drink where she refused to acknowledge him so he ended up just leaving because she just ignored him like he was not standing there waiting. I hope she leaves soon so we can go back to liking our local. Wonder how many other have had this...
Read moreTwo stars tonight simply for the kitchen. Table was booked for our daughter's 18th birthday tonight. We arrived, waitress pointed the direction of "our" table and we found it by ourselves. Drinks arrived..... Well almost. One ordered drink didn't. Orders were taken for food. We waited FOREVER (around half an hour) and instead of the expected (and ordered) entrees, she starts bringing out mains???? I asked about the entrees at which point she again hurried back to the kitchen and ordered them. Meals came in dribs and drabs, with my meal coming out well after the others. Meals were delicious and piping hot. 3/4 through our mains, our entrees came out. I guess there's a first time for everything. We didn't want to experience dessert so escaped before things went more "Fawlty". The blonde waitress with short hair is a liability and needs significant training to get up to a base line of acceptable service, that includes glassware for...
Read moreThis was a surprising gem to find for a last minute stop in dinner with the family! We had a vegetarian antipasto platter that was the most spectactular bargain of the century for an entree, three delicious cheeses and a range of Mediterranean bits and pieces. Kids meals were all excellent, as was our chicken and pizza. Not to mention that Thursday is apparently top shelf for $8 night AND kids eat free, so the whole extravaganza was a bit of a bargain really. The setting was relaxed and cool on the deck even though it was a very hot day. The service was impeccable, (offers of tastings, prompt polite service, knowledge of the menu and drinks and general happiness and good cheer - thank you!) Decent range of beers on tap. The kids and I all asked if we could go back, and I think we will next time we are passing through, even though there are about 100 pubs between us and...
