STILL SHAKEN! Goodbye 'Scatter Bean' :-(

Today is a beautiful sunny morning in Taringa with perfect Queensland weather.

As a family, we tend to go down to the local coffee shop "Scatter Bean" and buy breakfast and coffees there on a regular basis. The coffee tastes fine if not quite hot and the simple food is good enough for us, we are not fussy. The place, although not particularly cheerful, is welcoming as it opens onto the street. It has a wonderful north facing wall, with a bench and a very rough sandy earth floor outside, open to rain but glorious on a fine day.

Best of all, the place has a water filled dogbowl and is welcoming to our polite dog, or so it seemed.

On occasion, a rather stern little lady would serve us, she would fuss about a little if our dog was there and remark dourly if there was any disturbance of the sand floor.

Today though, as we relaxed in the warmth of the sun, and our dog sat at our feet, it poured the sand, once too often, the stern lady, who had not served us, rushed around the corner and roused about the tiny two cupfuls mound of sand. I got a fright, she was so feisty

With courtesy and tact, wishing to make good, I suggested three times, as she fussed and kicked the sand about the single offending dent, "How about I fill in any divots before leaving?" No, she indicated that was not good enough.

We were clearly not welcome. She was abrupt, tense and cross and she wanted us to know how bad she felt.

I asked her to leave us in peace to drink our last breakfast there.

My son mentioned to her that this was unacceptable behaviour for returning customers. This was clearly not her problem as she said "Fine!"

So I work as a delivery person for Doordash and Uber eats. I was waiting for an order here and they asked me to wait for 5-10 minutes for the order. I was patiently waiting and in 2 minutes the store marked the order "Ready for pickup" on their delivery tab which is only supposed to be marked if the order is actually ready for pick up. When I spoke to the person in charge of the store regarding it, instead of sorting the issue she asked me to get outside the store and told me "if you don't want wait more cancel the order". Note that I was ready to wait but when they mark it as ready to be picked and we don't pick it gives a bad review about us, that is the rider. The staff here are very rude to delivery people and very nice to in store customers. My friend who is a delivery person as well also has been through a similar situation. The only nice person here is the barista dude who is nice and polite. They should note that we should be respected the same as we might not be consuming their food but are delivering food to their loyal customers from far away places. The order was too South Brisbane which was 12kms away. And me being a student can't cancel the order after waiting for long as we are only allowed to work Limited hours and when we cancel, the time counts on our profile. I've seen their food, they might serve the best food but this review is solely a request to ready the delivery people same as their customers. I’m unsure why anyone would not LOVE this gem in Taringa☺️ SO convenient next to the train station, it has a wonderful community vibe and dog friendly. Definitely the best coffee in the area and really enjoy their ice coffees in the summer. The chef makes the best cooked breakfasts and delicious lunch. I love the spinach and cheese omelette served with tomatoes, avocado and a homemade ketchup. Our kids love the yummy fried egg sandwich with egg dripping as you take your first bite:) The banana bread is brilliant. Sadly we really miss their fresh little biscuits (in my pic) especially the lemon and almond as they use to give these with a coffee and the new biscuit just isn’t the same 😢 However the staff are always welcoming and friendly and the food is consistently superb!!!...
