My partner and I went here for the first time because we saw it on Instagram and the reviews were quite good so we wanted to give it a try. We got the Eggplant chips and the Prawn & Chicken Dumplings as entrees. Eggplant chips were amazing! My partner hates eggplant but he gave it a go - he loved the sauce that came with it but was still a bit iffy on the eggplant bit. I loved it, so I would highly recommend giving that a try. The Prawn & Chicken Dumplings were a bit of a miss as it tasted like it was not hand made but had been frozen, reheated and left to cool down but someone forgot to serve them in time because the outside started going a bit hard by the time it was served too us, so we didn't like it very much. For the mains we got Crispy Pork Asian Greens - that was a 2 thumbs up from my partner as it's one of his favourite dishes from his other Thai resturant. He loved it! The pork so super crispy and the pork bits were quite massive in size. I highly recommend having this dish. The only thing that was a bit sad (minor details) is that there was only 6 pieces of pork. If that is not a deal breaker for you then you will highly enjoy this. We also got the Beef Massaman Curry. Again nailed it! amazing and creamy dish, was not watery at all and the beef just fell apart in your mouth (that's how you know it's good). Fought my partner to have the left overs for lunch the next day (I lost). Classic Thai dish and they nailed it. The last dish we had was the Holy Basil Stir Fry -- my favourite dish and I loved it. The amount of veggie variety was solid. I got mine with prawns and the prawns were huge! My partner didn't like it as much but I loved it. We ate all our meals with Coconut Rice. We had two beverage; Thai Milk Tea - super sweet according to my partner (a little bit too sweet for him) and I had a Coke No Sugar -- normal tasting - nothing significant there.
Overall: Food - 9/10 -- minor sadness with a few dishes but still very good Price - 7/10 -- quite pricey but the serving size is huge - value for money but not for everyday pop out and get a meal prices but once a week quality meal Service - 10/10 -- ladies who served us were really nice (well done ladies) Wait time - 10/10 -- we didn't have to wait long max 15 mins Resturant size - Small size - think there was 14 seats max. Parking - DO NOT PARK UNDERGROUND if you have a low set car with ANY body kit on it! Holly molly that was a nightmare to get out, you will 100% scrap. Someone needs to fire the person who designed that ramp. It is a sharp (and I mean sharp) 50 degree angle down to the underground carpark. Try and get parking in front of the resturant if you can.
Dissappointing bit -- no grandmas working in the kitchen though, which was kind of dissappointing.... all young females in their early 20's. MIsleading...
Read morei rarely travel to Ashgrove and never really had a clue what was there, but after visiting @grandmas.asian i think i’ll be traveling there quite often now for their delicious dishes!🤤🔥

🔥sichuan fried calamari 🥟prawn and chive wonton 🍖grandmas crispy pork ✨yuzu honey fried chicken 🍤prawn pad see ew 🍹grapefruit & lychee soda and thai milk tea
the flavors that were embedded into this meal was truly divine!! the calamari and wontons are lovely entrees and starter dishes, but what truly stole the show for me were their main dishes!🤩🤤i don’t think i’ve ever had crispy pork like this!! the crackling on the top was incredible and the pork itself was so juicy and packed with taste oh my god-🤤🔥🍖
the pad see ew was generously loaded with massive prawns and the yuzu honey chicken was really unique and understandably a customer favorite👀✨🫶🏻they also have refreshing drinks like their sodas and thai milk tea~🍹💖
truly a underrated restaurant and after knowing they are the sister restaurant of @ohmonkasian it all made sense as both places serve up different, but equally...
Read moreBeen ages since we had a great Asian food as we could rarely find ones these days. Grandma’s was indeed one of the best we had experienced.
Though the menu was limited, the selections were attractive enough. We had a roasted duck, a crispy pork with the Asian greens, a chicken cashew nut (a little too sweet for our taste), a Korean fried chicken with yuzu sauce and a chicken Pad See Ew. All the meals were cooked to perfection and their portions were generous.
The service was outstanding; staff were welcoming, fast, efficient and helpful.
The venue was nice and clean. Enjoyed a busy and vibrant atmosphere. We were blown away with such a fabulous dining experience.
Thank you and keep it up good work,...
