Great little spot in Coorparoo with plenty of outdoor seating and easy free street parking. I had the almond milk latte (so did Josy) and we both loved it smooth, strong, and well-balanced. Fun fact: they used to have a Grumpy Munkey cafĂ© in Budapest, but now it’s just here in Brisbane. No matcha on the menu sadly, but they do sell their own beans, which is a nice touch if you’re keen to take the coffee home. Cool, low-key vibe worth a visit if you’re in the area.

A nice hole in the wall place in Norman Park, with a relaxing vibe. I had a flat white and avocado on toast. Coffee was full of flavour, with hints of bitter chocolate. Avocado on toast was tasty and seasoned. However, would have benefited from some dukkah to elevate the dish or slightly more seasoning. The area is lovely for a walk, with a park not too far away. Why not grab a coffee and go for a wonder after your meal. I did, and it was very enjoyable.

Coffee was presented well on a wooden tray with a small brownie & water. Ordered double shots so strength was all there, didn't mind the flavour. Avocado was exactly that, no frills just smashed on sourdough. Reflecting the price of $9 which was reasonable for the two slices. There are some funky seats on the footpath on which to chill with your pooches

Trendy, hip and on point. Staff were friendly coffee was good. I'll drop in again if I'm in the neighbourhood.

(Edit: reply to grumpy team) I had a coffee and a free biscuity thing. Both were good as was the overall experience for a first visit to somewhere new.

I would come back and I would recommend you to others. Of probably over 20 coffee places I've visited this year I would rank you in about 5th place.

This ultimately comes down to personal opinion. First and foremost I'm looking for coffee that I want to drink again, most other things only come into play if the coffee is comparable.

The only thing that stopped you from getting 5 stars is my two favourite coffee places. I liked you but if you were all in the same area I would walk past you to get to either of them even if I knew the wait was going to be longer.

A five star rating scheme doesn't leave much room for nuance. 1& 2 stars are reserved for the genuinely disappointing 3 goes to the unmemorable and unimpressive. I mostly only review places I like which means in practice everyone is a 4 or a 5. As much as I'd like to give everyone who was impressive enough to review a 5, I feel compelled to reserve the top score for my...

During my maiden voyage to the illustrious haven that is Grumpy Monkey, I found myself utterly enchanted by the sheer brilliance and magnificence that permeates every nook and cranny of this establishment. It stands as an impeccable embodiment of the quintessential café experience, surpassing all expectations.

Every facet of Grumpy Monkey, from its meticulously crafted beverages to its enchanting ambiance, radiates an unparalleled charm and sophistication. The delightful concoction of flavors in the coffee was nothing short of a symphony for the senses, while the ambiance exuded an inviting and comforting allure that embraced me warmly.

Moreover, the infectious smiles and genuine warmth of the staff members added an extra layer of delight to the entire affair. Their dedication to excellence and their passion for ensuring a remarkable customer experience truly set this establishment apart.

As I bid adieu, I find myself eagerly anticipating the prospect of returning to bask once more in the splendor of Grumpy Monkey, where each visit promises to be a tapestry woven with the finest threads of delectable flavors, charming ambiance, and heartfelt smiles that leave an indelible mark...

This place is lucky that its in a good location but that's really the only thing going for it, although I really wish a better Cafe with actual food options could exist there instead.

Every coffee I have had over the last 2 years (the year prior was good) have been simultaneously too watery and too milky. Sometimes I think they forget to put coffee in its that bad. I keep giving them a try but I honestly dread it when I turn to this option, up there with some of the worst coffee in Brisbane in my opinion. The very lacking food options that I often had to turn to when working from home are far too expensive - $16 for a sloppily made and no frills bagel?!?! That's the price of an actual breakfast at a Cafe and would get you 2 bagels in the city. The price has been marked up 25% in the last year when I am definitely not paying more for avo, tomato and cream cheese at the shops.

I am a big fan of their brownie but even now at $7 it's definitely not worth it when you could go to dello mano, flour and chocolate or Jocelyns provisions instead for a better option at the same or...
