Master Dan's - Coffee & Vietnamese Restaurant — Restaurant in Brisbane City

After seeing a number of reviews on our local community page, we decided to give it a go and I’m so glad we did!

The staff are all so lovely and sweet, they were attentive and accomodating to any special requests that we had. They checked in to make sure our meal was all good and we didn’t need anything else.

We ordered the Beef Pho, Chicken Pho and Special Egg Noodles with XO and all were delicious. I think the Pho is on par with the ones you get at Inala and that’s saying something. The soup was very flavoursome, not watered down and decent sizing.

Their Vietnamese menu is inspired by their Hanoi roots therefore there isn’t the broken rice dish that you might see at other places. That said, there is still heaps of options and I have heard great things about the Roast Pork Belly Banh Mi, which I’ll have to come back to try!

Highchairs available for young children, plastic bowl too. Parking outside, street parking. A little small on the inside therefore, if you have a big group like 4+, I would recommend booking in advance.

They do takeaway and are on UberEats. Seemed quite busy with takeaway orders while we were there. Visited on a Saturday night but the wait time wasn’t too bad, approx 15-20...

I started with their 24-hour slow-cooked beef pho, and WOW—this was on another level! The broth was rich, deep, and full of umami, with melt-in-your-mouth beef and perfectly balanced spices. It’s rare to find a gluten-free pho that delivers this much flavour, but Master Dan’s nailed it. Every spoonful was comforting, aromatic, and incredibly satisfying. If you’re a pho lover, you need to try this!

Then came the bún chả, and let me tell you… this is the best Vietnamese dish I have ever had! The beef and pork patties were smoky, juicy, and packed with so much flavour that I was honestly blown away. Paired with fresh herbs, vermicelli, and perfectly balanced dipping sauce, every bite was a flavour explosion. And yes, completely gluten-free!

Master Dan’s has officially set the standard for Vietnamese food in Brisbane. If you love authentic flavours and need safe, delicious gluten-free options, this place is an absolute must-visit!

Linda and Dan are really friendly hosts, who skillfully share their love of Hanoi's northern Vietnamese food to Carina Heights. Highly recommend the Bún Chả, it is a Hanoi street food staple - This dish has the juiciest grilled pork patties and grilled pork that are freshly prepared when you order. It's served deconstructed (just like in Hanoi!) so you can dip your vermicelli noodles into their house made broth/dipping sauce, and they can give you fresh chilli if you want to spice things up.

They currently offer a good value lunch special where you can get a Banh Mi, 2 spring rolls and a drink for only $13.90
