I used to patronise Shiki Oriental a lot more often during my uni days, but it’s been a long time between drinks since then. Good to re-connect recently with a braised pork dish and some bubur cha cha for dessert. Noticed some placards for these items displayed on the counter, so I’m not sure if they’re limited time specials or they haven’t gotten around to updating their regular menu yet. In any case, both hit the spot in expectation. The braised pork shank with rice ($12.90) was saucy and a lovely shade of tender. It came with a large serve of rice which was perfect for sharing with my son. A whole braised egg is also included. All up a very homey and comforting meal. The bubur cha cha ($3.80 - sweet coconut dessert with sago, taro & sweet potato) was a bit of an impulse buy, but not one I regret. It’s not a common find so I appreciated the rare opportunity to have some.

Had a food battle with friends on who can stack more. (I lost, but that's besides the point haha...) The owner and employees didnt care much about how much you stack, unlike a similar place named Two Wongs. Actually the owner apologized for the delay in getting few food out (the place was crowded). In terms of food quality, it was comparable to other average chinese resto. But the point of this type of fast food buffet stall is to stuff up as much as you can. And for the price, it is very worth.

This place are located at food court, they had selections of viands that you can choose from, it cost you $17.90 for a large plate and $13.90 for a small one. The food are reasonably priced. The Tom yum are authentic Thai taste. You can't go wrong.

Every couple of years I convince myself to try this place again, and not once has it ever ended without getting a stomach ache. Points for variety, and I guess value for money if you're good at buffet Jenga. The food quality utterly destroys me though. Also I know I shouldn't be looking for authenticity, but it's so sweet I swear these items are 50% sugar.

Also, what is up the order of the buffet items. The sweet and sour sauce is the first item, and the rice doesn't show up until like the 6th tub? Who's constructing their...

After being unimpressed by the Mt Ommaney counterpart of this store, I was really hoping this one would be better. Standard prices, though their container sizes seem really small. The food looks great but was very disappointing. Battered fish was nice, but everything else was just chewy and bland. Sweet and sour pork batter was very thick and bready. Fried rice was bland tastes like it's made with frozen veggies. Service was nice enough, and food was all hot. I won't go back here again over the other options in this food...
