Stones Corner is well endowed with eateries so I have been slow to try Moreish. I remember it 10+ years ago as a roast beef roll lunchtime place. But that doesn't cut the mustard in this wannabee trendy getting gentrified corner of Brisbane. I had a dirty chai and carrot cake yesterday, and it was not half bad. I saw the sign for eggs benny + coffee for $20 and thought ok tomorrow morning for that. Long black was 4/5, smooth but not strong. Needs a double shot for my taste. The eggs benny had beautifully poached eggs on split muffins and rocket and spinach. Muffins are good because crispy crusty sourdough can be a pain to cut. Hollandaise sauce was typical, but they add teriyaki sauce to give it a kick along. Prices are good, service is friendly, and there is inside and outside seating....
Read moreCouldn’t eat the southern fried chicken burger AT ALL. Coriander mixed all through the slaw in the burger, like waaaay too much even if you do like the stuff. No mention of coriander on the menu. But even apart from that the burger was trash. Very sweet throughout (who wants a sweet tasting chicken burger?!?) slaw, bun, sauce and even the chicken tasted sweet rather than savoury. And it was all wet and mushy on the inside- and no I didn’t let it sit before eating. I got another meal here a few months ago - can’t remember what it was but it was equally underwhelming. Coffee okay after you add a sugar or two. Sorry Moreish, you’ve got a great looking cafe but not much else. I’ve given you several tries over the past year but each time it has been very disappointing....
Read moreMy wife and I have been having Saturday morning breakfast at Moreish for almost 4 years now. For me, it is my favourite meal of the week – no offence intended about my wife’s fine cooking. The staff have always been friendly, so much so that we have known the names of all the managers and all the serving staff since we first visited. Jun and Yun, the husband and wife team running the café, have done a great job with the menu, and the quality and presentation of the meals. Prices are very reasonable, and the coffee is excellent. We prefer Moreish over the 3 other places along the Stones Corner shopping strip that also serve breakfast and lunch. FYI – (1) This is a dog-friendly café, and (2) is not too noisy, making it suitable for people like me who struggle with...
