Mister White People only? Yesterday I had a shameful experience at this place located in the valley. A friend mine, an afro-american basketball player moved to Brisbane recently and took him to check Brisbane night life. He mentions Mister Mista and there we went. Place was kind of DEAD but was playing hip hop. We sat beside the DJ and in front of the dance floor. When my friend stood up to get a drink, the security came in a second and told me to leave the table “cause there was bottle consumption only”. I looked around and on the other tables, also couples drinking spirits but NO Bottle on the tables. I asked if he had done the same request for the other customers and came back with an answer “ they just had dinner that's why they can be there”. This White Security came “cleaning” the table and bunch of people sat on the table even before I get up. Note that had other tables available around. Me and my friend moved to one table close to the smoke area and from there I could watch: NO Bottle being consumed as the photo I have attached. The security only removed us. None of the tables had any bottle being consumed and the customer that took our table were consuming exactly what we had before. So why this treatment only with us? Unfortunately I didn’t want to believe but it was pure racism in my opinion. I went outside to try to find the security and I ended up talking with a blond middle age lady at the door that was the manager or owner. I explained what happen and she didn’t not care at all. She just said you can sit in another table. We finished our drinks and I left again I expressed my unpleasant experience: I was ashamed. My friend has lived in Germany, France, America and and experienced this inadmissible treatment here. We again spoke with this lady and she said: “the customers are consuming bottles” so we took her to show us which bottle. Again nothing on the tables and the she offered “free drinks” to us. My lady I work for state finance institution and he is renamed accounting manager, we dont need your freed drinks. We need RESPECT. It’s shame managers and staff treat people different cause of the colour of the...
Read moreMr Mista might be known for their night parties but little do people know that they're also an amazing Asian modern food restaurant that is sure to blow your party hat away! We came here during the weekday and it feels like we're at the entrance of a Miami night club, how fun! As were greeted by a sleek host and seated in one of the booths, we immediately noticed the ceiling, how fancy! It was also my birthday so it was really nice to go for dinner at a place that gave off party vibes but was not too loud (yet). Food? Don't even ask, it was delicious and finger-licking good. As for their cocktails though.. you'd have to ask how they came up with them! We did, and it was one of the bartender's idea to use celebrity names as cocktail inspirations. We ordered the Johnny Depp and Bruce Lee - the Johnny Depp tasted summery, like a Pina Colada. It does make sense if you associate Johnny Depp with the Pirates of the Caribbean! We also received a nice surprise from the kitchen for my birthday, and this shows how much they care about their patrons. So people, if you've moved on from the party life but still love that vibe, do check out Mr Mista for dinner - it's a restaurant that brings back the nightlife in you without all...

Went to Mr. Mista last Saturday night on the recommendation of a friend. We had no booking and rocked up as a party of 4 at 7.45pm. Completely understanding the fact that we may have to wait a while for food. We were greeted and told that it would be a little wait but there were no more bookings so it would be a matter of simply waiting for existing patrons to leave. We sat and had a couple drinks, while no word of a lie we watched 10 different parties enter and be seated at different tables. Obviously VIPs. Finally after over an hour and 15 minutes we were told we could be seated. Only to get to the table and be shooed away, quite literally by the VIP manager who had reserved it for a group who had just walked in! We were sent back to our original spot and after 5 minutes and without even an apology we were asked if we wanted to order some bar snacks because the kitchen was closing.
There is obviously no communication between the Matradee and The VIP Manager.
So we left, walked to Longtime where we were seated. Got chatting and explained the situation. They gave us a complimentary drink to say sorry for the horrible experience and the food came...
