Dear Management,
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent experience at The Wickham. My visit, which I had hoped would be a pleasant one, was marred by terrible service and unprofessional, rude staff. I am appalled by the lack of basic food service knowledge, as well as the arrogance and dismissive attitude of the staff, which made me feel as though my concerns were entirely unwelcome.
From the moment I arrived, the service was subpar. Despite there being plenty of available seating, we were left standing at the bar for several minutes without any acknowledgement. Despite not being particularly busy. When the food did eventually arrive, it was lukewarm at best, and not prepared to the standard one would expect from an establishment of your reputation.
However, what truly disappointed me was the behavior of the staff. When I politely raised my concerns about the food, I was met with a dismissive response and an attitude that suggested my concerns were trivial. Rather than attempting to resolve the issue, the staff seemed more interested in belittling me. When I asked if there was any form of compensation, I was told "That's just how it is here" with no offer of any sort of apology or effort to make things right.
As a paying customer, I found this behavior completely unacceptable. Not only was the quality of service and food far below expectation, but the lack of accountability and the refusal to offer even a small gesture of goodwill has left a sour taste in my mouth. I had high hopes for The Wickham, but this experience has completely undermined my confidence in the restaurant/bar.
I trust you will take this complaint seriously and investigate the matter further. I believe some training on customer service, professionalism, and basic food handling might be in order. Additionally, I would appreciate it if you could consider offering some form of compensation for the unpleasant...
Read moreMy Wife and I got MARRIED at the Wickham! I am so proud to be part of the Wickham team and to have been welcomed with such loving and open arms when the idea of holding our wedding was mentioned.
This had been in the works since 2018 and with Covid having us cancel or move it a few times we were finally able to do so on June 28th 2021. A Pride wedding. In pride month. In a PRIDE venue!!
The entire team went above and beyond to get this special occasion off the ground and we will be forever grateful for all the hard work the entire Wickham family did for us.
The executive chef and venue chef’s even created a fully Vegan, Gluten free and other dietary restricted menu for us!! ( insert drool face emoji here ) Not a single bit of food was left it was THAT delicious, we all wanted so much more of it!
My bride tribe and I were at the venue early Monday morning to help set up and thankfully the Wickham’s COFFEE SHOP was open, otherwise I’m not sure how we would have pushed through…considering the shenanigans we had the night before ha ha!
The day was absolutely MAGICAL and FUN and the amount of love and community support that radiated through the entire venue was felt and is still being felt so deep in our hearts.

Read moreI have been going to The Wickham for trivia on and off for three years. It's a great space and the trivia host is outstanding. Recently, the drinks selection has improved slightly, but this is not your neighborhood craft taphouse. My complaint with The Wickham is the food. I'm vegetarian, and prior to the recent menu redo, I had stopped bothering to order there. I visited for the first time post-new menu and was wildly disappointed. If possible, the food is now worse. The options (meat and vego) are extremely limited. My meat-eating friends are happy enough with their steaks and parmas (they look pretty average to me), but the vego options are now either a 'buddha bowl' - literally steamed veggies on rice or a weird nacho bowl where they have replaced everything good about nachos with...rice. Both are close to $20. I ordered the nacho thing and I have rarely had a worse meal. It was a small handful of corn chips and a cup of watery white rice with chunks of carrot and zucchini cooked in tinned tomatoes poured over the top. No beans, no spice, no flavour. It was honestly surreal to pay for something I might have had cooked for me by an 18 year old just out of home and learning how to use a stove. I've been telling myself for months that I'm just going to stop going there, and it think this might have actually done the trick. There's a lot to like about this venue, but plan to eat...
