My partner and i stayed at the Miro last weekend for my 21st birthday. Leaving the booking til the very last minute, all the places i wanted to stay were booked out. Luckily just one week before we were due to arrive i stumbled upon the Miro.
I was a little unsure initially, we checked in on Saturday, apparently we couldn't check in until 2pm, got there about 2:30pm and find out the office is closed. Ive started to panic, but called the emergency number and a very helpful lady answered and helped us get in and locate our keys so that was ok.
We could not find a single thing to complain about. For $95 per night for a one bedroom apartment in the heart of the Valley, we weren't expecting much at all but were so pleasantly surprised when we got there. We had a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival, the kitchen had everything we would have needed in them, even supplying washing up liquid etc.
The apartments were spotless, there was actually quite a strong smell of bleach when we first got there which disipated after airing the place out which to be honest i found quite comforting.
The location is AMAZING. We went out for dinner at Cloudland which was about 400m from the Miro. My partner had to come back to change his shoes after dinner before going out and it was only about a 5 minute walk so the Miro is perfect for anyone planning to party in the valley.
The only thing i would have to point out, and of course it all depends on what side your room is on, but theyre currently building a new apartment building that faces the room we were in (we were there on the weekend so no noise from construction thank goodness) so once the construction is finished, you would lose all the privacy and the people in the apartments would be able to see straight in. The Balconies have a shade thing that you can wind down but it only blocks out shade, you can still see through them.
All in all we were absolutely satisifed with our stay at the Miro, particularly for the price we paid and would highly recommend for any young people who want somewhere to stay when partying...
Read moreI've chosen the miro for my last two vacations and plan to call it 'home' for my February stay, given I've been very impressed with the service in all aspects bar two. The staff are polite, approachable and welcoming. The apartments in general are generous of size. The kitchen has most basic appliances and utensils you could think of. The bedroom is also considerably spacious with two hanging wardrobes and desk. The sheets are crisp with an invitingly comfortable mattress to ensure a sound sleep but the room could use a TV for people like me who enjoy cuddling with your SO (hint hint, if online reviews are acknowledged). The basic bathroom/laundrys lack of space shouldn't disappoint as it is thoughtfully arranged and the available surface area is satisfactory. The lounge room is stylish and well situated, with a coffee table and view over the balcony. There is also an adequate TV that is inconveniently bolted to the wall so no, you can't drag it into the bedroom. The view overlooking Robert street was peaceful, private and at times entertaining watching the intoxicated nightlife zigzag downhill from the pub with friends, high heels slung over the shoulder and blokes doubling back to find a misplaced purse in true Aussie fashion. The breathable metal screens double as windows that are exceptionally difficult too see past from outside, giving you peace of mind that the unknown presence of an amused spectator will not disturb the antics. The miro is the ideal holiday getaway accommodation for all; retired couples, honeymooners, family holidays or even shared accommodation between adventurous friends. In a lively yet convenient location, with excellent service and almost guaranteed complete satisfaction at an affordable price. This is a review from a customer that enjoyed their stays enough to publicly commend the business on their teamwork; consistently providing and maintaining the faultless, yet humbled service and successfully creating an inviting, comfortable and relaxing environment, suitable for all. Credit given where...
Read moreGreat accommodation for a couple or individuals for an extended stay. The apartment is well equipped with cooking facilities, cooking equipment (though a few extra sets of crockery would be good), full size fridge, dishwasher, AC and laundry facilities. Living space was adequate and comfortable as was the separate bedroom. While our apartment's balcony overlooked a neighbouring block of units, it was spacious and included a large dining table with four comfortable chairs. As the weather was mild when we were there, the opportunity to enjoy fresh air was appreciated. The design aesthetic is industrial, an interesting change from the standard apartment style. Staff were efficient, friendly, helpful and responsive and the building is very secure. There was excellent unlimited wifi in our room but we would have enjoyed access to subscription TV channels as well as the free to air services. The local area offers plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes and take away food outlets, supermarkets, shopping, galleries & entertainment venues and convenient access to public transport (buses and Fortitude Valley Station, including the Airtrain). The Brisbane River Walk, and the Howard Street Wharf bars & restaurants, can be accessed in less than a 10min walk and the walk into the Brisbane CBD via this route takes about 20 minutes. The only downside was the building construction work currently taking place across the road but apart from the early morning noise and some traffic issues this was not a significant...
