I went to Tama with 2 close friends to celebrate a birthday. By mistake arrived early and spent 45 mins in the bar at the Tax Office (bar in same building). One of us is in a wheel chair so access was not straight forward as it is a heritage building and has stairs so had to enter building via Tax Office Bar.

Staff in Tax Office were amazing and helped us get a drink from our table. They without being told also notified Tama Staff we were in house and we were surprised to have a Tama Team Member come into Tax Office and escort us to our table when Tama opened.

All staff were well dressed, very attentive and appropriately trained. Service throughout was impeccable from the 4 staff members we interacted with.

Restaurant venue is stunning, modern, clean and not cramped. Tables are well spaced. Table linen was well presented. Table wear clean and of good quality.

The Sommelier was awesome. I was disappointed with the limited selection of Australian Shiraz/Varietial Reds - No Penfolds Super Premiums, only Henschke was Hill of Grace and no Rockford Basket Press.

Sommelier explained Tama was a new venue and it takes time to build a Red Wine list (especially aged and rare reds). He suggested bubbles. WOW the Champagne list is amazing. Settled for a bottle of Tattinger Prelude. It was ice cold and delicious.

Food Menu was impressive. For starters we shared a dozen oysters natural and warm hot sourdough with lashings of butter. Absolutely first class.

Mains we decided to share.

We had the Balmain Bugs, Octopus, Tortellini (Porcini), Duck with Cherry and the Grass Fed Hereford 250 gram Eye Fillet.

All were amazing. Served hot. As we were sharing staff gave us warm plates to dine off for the shared mains.

Table cleaned of crumbs by staff regularly.

No room for dessert but Manager (who was awesome and attentive to our needs) insisted on a dessert being complimentary for the Birthday Boy.

Served a Mascapone Strawberry Cake. We shared. It was fantastic light and delicious.

Experience was not cheap. But wine was $350 for bottle (if not included) meals and other drinks was about $135.00 per head.

Was well worthwhile and superior to anything in Brisbane or the Gold Coast.

Now I had read some poor reviews and was concerned about commentaries. With the greatest respect to the reviewers their experience was not anything like what we experienced. My advice is try again.

Overall a fantastic dining experience. All the other restaurants in Brisbane and the Gold Coast are now on notice. The new kid in town will certainly make you reconsider established fine dining options.

Well worth trying. We will definitely be...

WOW! Where do I even begin? After a relaxing morning and some coffee, we ventured out to try something new and landed at Tama Dining. Located next to the beautifully renovated GPO, this place is nothing short of amazing!

Tama Dining is one of my favorite new restaurants. The interior is stunning, exuding elegance and charm. But what truly sets this place apart is the exceptional food that comes out of their kitchen. With the culinary genius of Chef Richard Ousby at the helm and the expertise of award-winning Sommelier Alan Hunter, every dining experience here is thoughtfully considered.

They proudly showcase beautiful Australian and local Queensland produce. Their wine list is equally impressive, featuring an array of outstanding Australian wines alongside rare international gems.

We started with some delectable bites from the snack section – the warm native Akoya pearl and the Sydney Rock Oysters, the Prawn Toast and King Prawn Brioche roll which were all divine.

We absolutely loved our mains! My husband savored the Signature Tama Bolognese, while I indulged in the Crab Bisque Linguine. I still dream about that linguine! The bisque was moreish and velvety, and the pasta was impeccably fresh and silky. YUM!

We paired our meal with a beautiful Italian Barbera and wrapped up with espresso and dessert that were equally delicious.

The service was exceptional, attentive, and friendly. It's the kind of service that makes me want to return time and time again.

Do yourself a favor and pop this on your list of restaurants to try next!

Good to know:

*Depending on what time you go, make sure you check out the "GATSBY" bar upstairs later- it's a gorgeous place to have a drink.

They also have a functions area upstairs with private dining rooms to suit all budgets. More information on their website.

They cook some of their mains and seafood on their imported Japer...

Wonderful birthday experience in The Best Dining I have ever been “TAMA Dining” The meal was absolutely amazing

The Oysters from Tasmania tasted fresh and sweet

The Octopus with chorizo、harrisa 、whipped garlic sauce was my favourite meal last night Unlike other restaurants, the testure of the octopus was perfect in TAMA and not over cooked

The Duck with Cherry and Capsicum sauce was juicy and beautiful

The grass -fed Hereford Eye Fillet with red wine jus taste soft and tender (my recommendation is Medium rare)

Handmade pasta we ordered was Mushroom Tortellini .When I took one bite, the porcini broth exploded in my mouth. It was like ascending to heaven for a second. Absolutely delicious😋

Mash Potato with French Caviar tasted creamy and smooth . The flavour of the mashed potato was enhanced by the addition of caviar

Moreton Bay Bugs also tasted perfect . The flavour was fresh and sweet with the lemon butter sauce

All I can say is that they are very good at selecting and cooking seafood. All were amazing .Served hot .As we were sharing staff gave us warm plates to dine off for the shared mains.

We have no room for dessert but Manager Mr Antoine (who was awesome and attentive to our need )insisted on a dessert being complimentary for my birthday ,

And it was absolutely surprising me ,what the delicious dessert they made …

Strawberry cake was made from fresh strawberries、mascarpone coconut mousse and caramelised almonds It tasted wonderful but not too sweet , I think everyone will enjoy this beautiful dessert

Even though this restaurant has only been open for six months I think they are already in the top five restaurants in Brisbane

I would like to introduce TAMA to my friends and would very much like to dine TAMA...

Tama Restaurant, located in the vibrant city of Brisbane, QLD, offers a unique dining experience that combines exquisite Japanese cuisine with a welcoming atmosphere. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in their culinary creations, and I must say it was an experience to remember. Ambiance: Upon entering Tama Restaurant, I was immediately captivated by its modern and elegant decor. The ambient lighting and tasteful interior design create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant strikes the perfect balance between a sophisticated dining establishment and a cozy space to enjoy a meal. Service: The service at Tama Restaurant was exceptional from the moment I stepped through the door. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and displayed a genuine passion for their craft. They provided attentive and prompt service throughout the evening, ensuring that my dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. Cuisine: Tama Restaurant takes cuisine to a whole new level. The menu boasts an impressive selection of traditional dishes. Every bite was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication. Highlights: One standout dish that deserves special mention is the Beef Tartar The thinly sliced, melt-in-your-mouth beef. Value for Money: While Tama Restaurant may fall into the higher price range, the quality of the food, service, and overall experience justifies the cost. The attention to detail and the commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience make it worth every penny. Conclusion: Tama Restaurant exceeded my expectations in every aspect. From the elegant ambiance and impeccable service to the outstanding culinary creations, it is clear that Tama is a standout restaurant in Brisbane, QLD. Tama Restaurant is a must-visit destination.

Had a great time here! DJ’s playlist was amazing. First time dining with them and Ashton was an incredible waitress! Attentive, witty and respectful. She definitely made the experience even better as a solo diner. The steak was a tad too salty for my liking, especially for an MB4-5 wagyu scotch fillet at that price point. Wine didn’t help much in that regard. Especially as it was smoky, so that plus the salt wasn’t great 😬 the balance was off. I took a star away cos when I dined here I was really looking forward to the steak. Especially after looking at the menu and reviews. So it was a bit of a let down. But everything else was great and would definitely come back for the unique concept, service and other dishes. Loved the kingfish with preserved lemon, kohlrabi and the ginger underneath was a lovely balancing touch. Very creative, refreshing and delicious. It wasn’t written on the menu so that was a nice surprise while eating. Wine list was great too.
