I ordered a whole chicken with 2 sides and a coke to be delivered. The coke never arrived. I understand that mistakes happen but this is a regular occurrence with nandos calamvale. The biggest issue though, is that when I called the store to ask them what can be done about my coke, no one answered the phone. I made repeated calls but you just have to wait for a whole lot of extremely annoying blah blah blah self promotional bull with them Doing all they can to get you to self-help yourself because clearly, serving you or taking a booking is too hard for them. After all, they don’t care about their customers. We are just a means to an end, ie them taking your money. Service obviously isn’t in their business plan, and then they tell you no one is available, call back later and just cut you off. After numerous attempts I gave up, which i’m guessing is what they want you to do, that’s why they make it IMPOSSIBLE for you to speak with anyone. I then tried to call the nandos official help line, not the store line, and was just put on hold indefinitely with no end to my wait in sight. The 3 minute wait time that they said I’d be waiting for blew out to 6 minutes, so again, I just gave up. My food was getting cold and I was hungry. Nandos here’s the thing. The inconvenience and the mere fact that I couldn’t get this issue sorted by speaking with someone, because you clearly couldn’t care about your clients and providing good service, tells me that you don’t need the business. I will NEVER buy from you again. That goes for any of your stores. Aporto’s will get my business from now on. You’re not the only place that makes piri piri chicken. That $5.00 bottle of coke has just cost you dearly. Think about it. It’s a principle thing. If you don’t care about your customers, believe me, your customers don’t care about you. Calamvale is by far the worst store I’ve ever been to. I come from the birthplace of nandos, South Africa. This visit is the worst ever experience I have for this restaurant. And I am sure that we never come back to this store again. Tonight, as usually we ordered 2 whole chickens with sides. I noticed there was new different team tonight compare to usual team. At first, the team member who took the order was friendly and nice. Then we are waiting more than 30 mins for the meal which I am understand as it is busy time for dinner. But when they brought our meal out it were a whole disappointment. The meal is disater. There was one of the whole chicken completely burnt. Yes, it is completedly BURNT. And they still served us that burnt chicken. It tasted bitter and the bone was broken because it was too over cooked. They hide the burnt side down and pour mild sauce on top to cover it. When I showed that to the manager, she did not even said sorry, just said "oh oh" and then took it away. Then the chef prepared another portion and throw it on our table without any apology. Yes, throw the dish on our table as if we were completely wrong when showing them their burnt chicken. It was fine then as they already served another portion even though the new chicken was very dried, no juicy at all and half burnt. At the end, we are unable to finish them as the taste is not nice tonight. We are 3 adults and a child and we still had 3/4 chicken left. I then approached the manager and asked her for the take away container and mentioned that we still had 3/4 chicken left. She then gave me the smallest container they have. I was calmly told her again that we had 3/4 chicken left and thank God that she now gave me the big container so I can take my left over home. And I can not stand anymore but sit in restaurant and write this feedback straight away. When I am doing this, the manager then is asking dine in guests around for feedback tonight. I noticed that she just do that as she was forced to. She just asked and said thank you and walked away without receiving full feedback from customers. We have ordered from here a few times now via the Uber Eats app and the orders turn up missing items or served poorly looks like they have just been thrown in a box and very small portions for the amount you pay. The latest order tonight was breaking point for us, as our $9.99 chips were missing, except for two chips in the bottom of the bag and two Indian style lollies. We tried to ring up and the phone rang out for about half an hour.
Ended up DRIVING down there, we showed them the bag with the 2 chips in the bottom of the bag and the Indian lollies, the staff (after showing the other staff and all laughing) said there was no way they would have missed the chips in the order and they blamed the UberEats driver for stealing them and leaving Indian lollies in the bag. We told them we had tried to ring for about half an hour and they said they don't have a landline, despite when you ring the Nandos number it gives you Callamvale as an option to be put through to speak to someone about your order.
After being in the shop about 2 minutes while we were in there someone else came in saying something from their order was missing the the staff again came across matter of fact that they had packed the order correctly etc etc. The replacement chips we were then given, got home to eat them and found they were covered in salt they were inedible. Absolute disgrace of a place and seeing how many other 1 star reviews there are about the place I would highly recommend avoiding at all costs, that is unless you don't mind sloppy small portions and half of your order missing. Nobody cares anymore about customer service it appears, if this is how the customers are treated I'd be very concerned about what goes on in the kitchen and food prep handling procedures...
