My friend and I dined at this place for dinner. We ordered the Banquet Set Number 2, with Satay Chicken, Oyster Sauce Stir Fry of Vege and Beef, Red Chicken Curry and Beef Fried Rice. In general, the taste was all right. But the beef in both dishes tasted really really dry and hard to chew. Mushrooms in the Oyster Sauce Stir Fry were undercooked and a bit of raw, same issue for broccoli. The price however, was not very cheap, $51 for the set. Considering the location of this restaurant which is in a much less prime suburb, we reckon this price was actually a little bit high. Menu was also a downsider as it's purely word based without any pictures of the dishes. That's also why we eventually decided to have the banquet set as a simple ordering solution. Nevertheless, the staff there were friendly and approachable. Hence, 3.5 star for the food, 3 star for the price, 2 star for the deco, 3 star for the service, overall 3 star rating for Rainbow Thai. Read moreThis restaurant is a little gem in south of Brisbane . Wide range of traditional Thai food that is made fresh and hot to order. Plenty of meat and veggies in all the dishes and it's all flavoured really well. We tried a wide range of chicken dishes, spicy fried rice, Singapore noodles, hokkien noodles, Honey chicken, Thai Red Curry etc. They all tasted amazing. The portion sizes are also decent and can easily be shared between 2/3 people.
Dessert options were a little disappointing, except the fried ice cream. It was unique and was easily shared between 3 people. Overall a really good experience here. Will definitely recommended to anyone.
Went here again with some friends and everything was top notch as the initial time. The coconut rice (yellow colour) was too good. Absolutely recommend everyone to try. The laksa was a bit salty but overall tasted nice. Pad Thai was nice and peanut flavour really...
Read moreFood is extremely bland. Ordered fish cake. I get the same fish cake from inala woolies. Chicken stir fry just oily and disgusting. I throw in bin
Hi owner of rainbow Thai - I don't think those fish cakes where fresh. Don't think there was alot of pride that went in them or they were sourced from somewhere else as I can make those same fish cakes at home. So I I respectfully disagree.
With your stir fry marinated chicken. It didn't taste fresh. There wasn't enough meat in there, but it also didn't taste right.
I have eaten many Thai stir fry over 10 years and have never complained. But the Stir fry marinated chicken I had yesterday tasted a bit off. I am not going to agree with you on this. It wasn't fresh food and the chicken didn't taste right. I had one bite and had to throw it. It's ok I won't be recommending anyone to this...
