Ralph & Co Camp Hill — Restaurant in Brisbane City

My partner and I went there for breakfast (Sunday 17/3/24) and had an horrific experience. We arrived there at 9:50 and by 10:30 we still hadn't received our food and what we had ordered was far from complex. Smashed Avocado and poached eggs both on toasted sourdough. The roast pumpkin that came with the smashed Avo was almost uncooked and of my 2 poached eggs, I had one with a hard yolk and the other was only partly cooked and had watery egg white. Extremely unenjoyable and had none of our beverages left or had gone cold with the wait. We live local but have no intention of visiting there ever again.

In response to the owners reply, I'd like to add the following:- You were far from busy when we got there. At NO point were we told if would be a 40 minute wait, neither before we sat, while we sat or when we ordered, however, as stated in your response the 20 minutes you refer to as 'our wait time' is an absolute lie and was actually the 40 minute wait time we should have been informed about on our arrival. We had to flag up the fact that we had not received our food and a member of your staff came to our table and asked us to reiterate what our order was implying the original had been lost hence the double wait time. Your staff member did offer a complementary drink to my partner in a professional manner, which she declined but then turned to me and abruptly uttered 'AND YOU'... There was no way I was accepting the offer after the way she spoke to me. And at NO point did we ignore anyone. When the box was offered to my partner, it was assumed to be her leftover breakfast after we had told a member of your staff that we didn't want it to take away. It was NEVER conveyed that this box contained...

After regularly walking past this cafe and seeing it’s lovely atmosphere and vibe I was intrigued to try. Unfortunately I was left disappointed in both the price and food. After checking the menu and seeing how overpriced everything was I decided to pick the avocado toast which was an outrageous $19. Given the price, I was expecting big things but was left with only ONE piece of toast and the avocado seemed watered down. The taste was average and the meal barely filled me up and left me hungry. After checking the drinks menu I was shocked by the price of juice at $10 so settled with a tea. This was nice and affordable in comparison to the juices which were surprisingly small given the price. I love to support small and local businesses and cafes but unfortunately Ralph & Co will not be getting my service again. Especially given the high choice in the area I’d go somewhere else cheaper and better. Despite this, the wait staff were very friendly and tried to make the experience best they could but unfortunately price and the food...

Girlfriend & I went on Friday for lunch and both ordered their regular Thai rare roast beef salad. My "rare" beef was so overdone it was like leather, so I sent it back while my friend's meal arrive. She asked for some chilli to compliment the "thai" nature of the dish, as did I. When my 2nd attempt arrived, it was well done, but not like the dried-out leathery meat of the previous attempt. My friend chomped through hers but we both couldn't find any part of the beef anywhere that was even slightly pink, let alone "rare". To add insult to injury, when asked if we could have some chilli with it, we got red capsicum! Not a chilli in sight. Did we look that gullible? Adding $1 for ice-cream/cream alongside a dry slice is mean - they'd be better to reduce the size of the slice if their budget is so tight as to get just a piece of dessert looks measly.
