Fantastic karaage. Ordered the karaage platter which came with four different varieties, sweet potato chips, two dishes of mayo (wasabi and onion, we think) and a side of salad. We originally asked to order a Japanese coleslaw on the side, until the waitress informed us that it came with the salad. When it came out, it turned out they were out of the regular salad, but had swapped in the Japanese coleslaw instead (win!). It was more than enough for two people, we even took a few pieces home for the next day. They have several flavours of homemade lemonade, of which we tried the plain lemon and the raspberry. Both were delicious: the lemon was your traditional lemon squash, leaning towards the sour side but not too heavily, while the raspberry was very sour (the type that makes you smile). Loved them both! We tried two flavours of ice cream for dessert (one matcha, one black sesame) which each came served on cornflakes with a single frozen raspberry on top. We only ordered the single scoop servings, but they were generous scoops and after the big meal it was plenty. Definitely recommend a trip here if you're keen on karaage! My favourite variety was the boneless regular karaage (I forget the name on the menu), which had a lightly charred flavour to it. Overall I'm incredibly impressed that they were able to present me an entire meal of karaage and have me leave without feeling greasy. Loved every...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisappointing! This place is always packed, with 4.5 google rating, so decided to give it a try even though we live 30min away. Totally regret it.
We ordered beef skewer, which was okay. Tori karaage which was well received by the kids. And that's it, everything else tasted terrible. We ordered the eggplant karaage, with a batter thick and dry. The only taste comes from the pity amount of sweet broth at the bottom which mean the first few pieces have no taste. We also ordered meso scallops, and the scallops are clearly frozen, chewy and just didn't taste good. The yakisoba with chicken and prawn was okay, with prawn that's no bigger than a 1 dollar coin. And teriyaki chicken which was probably the best main tonight. Didn't even finish all the food and decided to pay and go to another restaurant nearby instead.
Will not return. 1 star for the food, and an extra star for friendly staffs. The staffs did asked how's everything with a lovely smile, all I managed to do is mutter...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLovely food, but that is where it ends.
The service was absolutely appalling. There were three of us and we ordered at the same time. Two drinks came, but not the third, this drink had to be asked for a further two more times.
The same thing happened with the meals, two arrived, but the third had to be asked for on numerous occasions. As a result, when it finally did arrive the other two meals were cold when we ate together.
THEN, one of the two entrees we ordered came as we were finishing our meals.
We had to ask for water which was never replenished until we requested another bottle.
The staff were impolite and 'sour' throughout the whole ordeal.
We will never eat there again. It was the worst service I have ever encountered.
There are no stars highlighted for SERVICE above for a reason. I could not in all honesty provide a star rating, so I went with no stars to reflect the service that we were provided with. It...
