Seoul Bistro — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I'd like to be fair with this review and say that tonight I had probably the best tasting, and most uniquely flavoured chicken wings, that were both crispy and juicy as well as absolutely dripping in sauce, which I love.

However it seemed as if either they were very understaffed, undertrained or possibly even just not able to operate effectively as a team.

We got the $25.90 buffet each for dinner and we were happy to recieve our first round of Wings and jug of Iced tea very quickly, probably within 10 minutes 😊.

By the time we finished the wings, the "garlic" bread and fries that come with the buffet, still hadn't arrived after about 20/25 minutes. The tray the wings came on was dripping with sauce so we were pretty excited to sop up some sauce with our fries and garlic bread once they arrived.

A gentleman came over with our "garlic" bread and asked if we'd like more chicken so we ordered another round, and more iced tea. In the blink of an eye he'd cleared off the old tray and started walking away. Now, keeping the table clear is usually a plus, however we were really missing the sauce once we tasted the bread. It was literally slices of white bread fried off in some butter. If there was any garlic, we couldn't taste it.

We end up waiting probably a further 20 minutes until the fries arrive with the dipping sauces we ordered nearly 45 minutes prior at this point. No more chicken or iced tea yet either despite seeing 8 or so jugs sitting on the pass, waiting to be run.

Eventually we got our second round of wings and had to ask again for our second round of tea, which admittedly came out fairly fast this time.

We finished the second round of chicken and tea and asked for more "Garlic" bread and tea which came out pretty fast but by that point it really was too little too late for our experience.

The servers were very friendly but they all looked very stressed and rushed, but obviously trying their best. There was obviously issues keeping track of which tables needed what and when as many tables around us were receiving their orders before us despite putting their orders in after ours, and other tables getting their garlic bread and fries first up before receiving and chicken (which seems the right way to go).

Overall, they had really, REALLY good chicken with a very lacklustre service, atmosphere and wait times which really soured the experience. I'll definitely have their chicken again... just probably delivered instead. 😅

Once again, staff were obviously trying very hard and it reads to me as a practices and procedures...

Booked a table for 8 for a birthday, waited 15 minutes in a line to tell them we had a booking. 3 out of our 8 ordered the tenders and they tasted like fish. We genuinely thought they had used fish for our tenders instead of chicken.The smell was so strong, you didn't even have to taste it. We did not trust it enough to order fresh ones. However, the staff were great and did not charge us for the fishy tenders but it was disappointing regardless, we left hungry. It was extremely concerning that an establishment that only serves chicken had tenders that smelt and tasted like fish, especially when others ordered boneless chicken or burgers that did not have this fish consistency - only the tenders. We stayed for 30 mins total and unfortunately we will not be returning.

Edit in response to reply; the tenders were not too spicy, (sprinkling a spice mix over the top over your normal buttermilk tenders does not even make them spicy). I advised the staff that only the tenders were fishy and I did not want a replacement because I did not trust that you could provide fresh ones. One of the wait staff even smelt the tenders and agreed they smelt like fish. We took take home containers because there were still others whose chicken was not fishy however they did not order tenders - they were lucky. If you are able to read a review properly, you will see only 3 of 8 out of our table were stuck with fish tenders. I did not want “free food” I wanted a meal that tasted and smelt like chicken. I have been here multiple times and always enjoyed the food. I advised the wait staff I would not be paying for 2x of the tenders as we did not take more than a bite and did not want replacements, they were fine with this. The staff even compensated all 3 order of tenders even after advising it was only 2 serves that were not eaten and the third was. YOUR staff compensated 3, I asked for two.
