Smokin Joes Espresso Bar - Everton Park — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Although initially sceptical of the quality of pizza that I would get from this place (it is a cafe after all, not a pizza restaurant) after trying the pizzas here I simply have to give them 5 stars.

The pizza menu is varied and interesting. You won't find your typical meatlovers style pizza here, although there are things that come close (try the beef brisket).

Toppings are high quality and generous. The base is thin and crispy.

Strange as it is to say, eating here doesn't feel like having a pizza, but rather like consuming gourmet meal. If all you want is your stereotypical comfort food, go elsewhere - sometimes that's what I want too, and if so I wouldn't order this. These pizzas are artisanal. They're an explosion of flavour in the mouth - an exploration of what the word pizza can be.

Tastefully surprised.. We decided to use menu log...after 3 disasters..2 pizza places and a Mexican..I still decided too do home delivery for the last and final time..so Smokin joes sounds good..mind you so did the others..but the food from those places ended up arriving warmish, burnt and tasteless...smokin Joes was a delicious surprise..still hot on arrival, topping covered every corner stacked with delicious sopressa and their base tomato mix..perfectly cooked, oozing with cheese and the fresh mint sprinkled on top actually complimented the flavours..the base was just right..the crust and crispeness indications that maybe they added a little olive oil to the dough mix..thank you Smokin joes for a...

The pizza options are great. The pizza bases however are like pastry and are not that nice. Cardboard came to mind when eating them. Other thing is the long wait times. We understand it is a small kitchen but 90mis for a pizza! One last thing is the pizza's are not cooked through and are cold wthin 5 mins. Looking at the size of the pizza cooker I can undersand the pizza's dont have much time to heat right through. Putting all these things together our three times giving this place a go have not been good experiences. There are lots of pizzza options in Everton Park now that include made in house pizza bases that does resemble cardboard...
