Well that lunch was a surprise! I didn't want to have lunch at some small time cookie cutter sushi place. May as well go to the regular sushi places and not take a chance on sub-standard food. But wife insisted so we went. Plenty of seating around the belt and lots of comfortable booths but usually booth seating at a sushi place is inconvenient. But not at Uroko! Tablet device with lots of pictures and a short description makes ordering better than picking straight off the belt. There are some unbeatable sushi combinations just waiting to be found in that device. We wanted to just keep on ordering. And the taste was well above any expectations we had. But, there's more! The price! It is all $3.80 each. Insane pricing for such tasty, well above the norm sushi. And rather than some cheap eats location, Uroko is right in the heart of the Everton Park eats locality. A thriving foodie alley/eat-street day and night and I believe some bar scene in the evening. Yes, we will be back many times. Cheap enough to bring and pay for your friends too. An...

My family and I used to come here usually once a week but the last couple of times, and I am sad to say, the service and food has gone down. I found a hair in my noodles one time, which I advised the staff and sent back, I had said not too worry about making another as we had waited a while and my kids had almost finished their dinner. I had only eaten a mouth full before I discovered it - a man’s hair (black and short, blunt cut? Intertwined in the noodles). Unexpectedly upon paying, the noodles were still on the bill. I asked if they could be removed and quietly told them the reason.. a lady then came out and asked if I could pay half. I didn’t think this was fair as I didn’t eat the meal and there was a hair in it?! No one should pay for food with hair in it. Other times the staff had been too busy chatting and unintentionally a little rude. I’d love to come back here if the service and food gets back to what it was. Sorry to say all of this as we used to live this place and I hope the feedback is...

Great sushi place, my partner and I go here frequently. We came in tonight as usual and started off by ordering 2 drinks through the tablet on the table, nothing wrong there. Then a kid anywhere from 12-15 years old with short brown hair came over and gave us one drink and walked away without saying a word. We realised we ordered 2 and only received one drink so my partner politely got his attention as he walked back past and asked where the second drink was. This kid very rudely said to my partner "I. AM. TRYING. TO. FIND. IT!" and walked away again without saying a word. First off, you could have said something like "I'm just going to get the second drink for you" when you bought us the first instead of just walking away or just completely held off on giving us the drinks until you had both. Secondly, you need an attitude adjustment. We were not rude or demanding, we asked a simple question. We expect more when we come and pay...

If you're just looking to fill your stomach and aren't too picky, this place will do the job, though it's a bit overpriced for what you get. However, if you're after fresh, quality Japanese food, you'd be better off going elsewhere. We ordered sashimi, nigiri, sushi rolls, soup, and gyoza. The fish lacked freshness, and the sushi rice was overcooked and wet. My spicy tuna roll turned out to be an avocado roll with a few thin slices of tuna on top. The gyoza was very oily and clearly frozen and reheated. The miso soup was especially disappointing—nearly $4 for a weak, watered-down broth with only two bits of seaweed. Given the location, I expected better. Wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a satisfying sushi experience.

What fun to be able to sit at a sushi train again. All the other trains came to a halt during (and post) Covid. Hubby and I went for an early dinner last week. It is a large space, with seats at the train, and booths also. Each spot has a tablet so you can order as you go, or just grab a plate from the train. We did a bit of both. We both had Ramune - Japanese lemonade, hubby enjoying his peachy one. We had various rolls, and a plate of vegetable tempura (interesting to see lotus root here). Staff were very efficient (tho not terribly friendly), and service was prompt. The food was okay; it didn't rock my world but it was comforting, and fun to be at the train. I'm sure we will be there again.
