My experience here was disappointing. I ordered an eggs benny with mushrooms with a side of salmon on sourdough toast and my husband ordered an acai bowl.
The acai bowl came out quick which was great but it did have a pit in it that was not edible and my eggs benedict came out 15 minutes later. The eggs benny hollandaise sauce was cold and slapped on top like a scoop of cream, not served warm as they’re usually served. The poached eggs were cold, the mushrooms were on the side whereas I wanted them on top instead of the salmon. For the sourdough slices I was given three burnt end slices, very small in size which were hard to cut through because of how burnt they were. Otherwise the flavours were nice yet it was cold like it had been left on the bench.
The atmosphere was unwelcoming. We came in at 1pm and they close at 2pm yet the staff were already packing chairs around all of the customers that were sitting at 1.15pm which made us feel unwelcome.
This is our second visit here which was disappointing since this cafe is so close to us and the reviews are so great. Hoping we'll give it some time till we come again. Hopefully this doesn't happen to the...
Read moreI feel sick from this meal. I ordered eggs benedict but even the whites were watery and raw. Dangerously undercooked. Sent it back as did not want to risk Salmonella poisoning. There was nothing appealing about this plate of food. The replacement meal was also problematic and made me sick. I had to leave mid-way through. The toast was so rock-hard that I could not get my knife through it. It seemed to be deep-fried in lard (?) Not palatable. I am unsure why it was so hard. In other matters, the blackboard sign is inappropriate and should not be on public display. It reflects poorly on the business. Whilst the company may consider this 'banter' or 'humour', it would be deemed offensive and discriminatory to those with disability. (Refer to Disability Discrimination Act, 1992; etc.)
Whilst the business has vehemently denied that raw egg is a health risk, I would invite the business to visit Queensland Health website for more information. Screen shot attached re risk.
As a legitimate diner at Sol, I have taken photographic evidence of my unpleasant food experience here and I stand by my review. The food was prepared to an unacceptable standard and...
