Soonta Cannon Hill — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Recently we tried some dishes from this local spot, including a Bahn Mi, two Noodle Salad Bowls, and Rice Paper Rolls. The Bahn Mi left much to be desired; it was lacking in both coriander and chilli, which are essential for that punch of flavor. The pate was inconsistent, leading to an overall underwhelming experience where I found myself searching for the flavors that make a Bahn Mi special.

Moving on to the Noodle Salad Bowls, the fish sauce was unexpectedly syrupy, which detracted from the overall freshness and balance one expects from such a dish.

The Rice Paper Rolls were satisfactory but didn't stand out in any notable way. They were the highlight in an otherwise lackluster meal, but even they could benefit from a bit of a boost in flavor or presentation.

Overall, the meal didn't quite live up to expectations, especially for someone who loves the vibrant and fresh tastes usually found in these dishes. Hoping for improvements in the future, as this place has potential.

The food here is amazing! If you are a Bahn Mi lover, their Roast Pork Bahn Mi will satisfy your craving! The quality and quantity at Soonta is well worth the price. If you were looking for a more filling and healthy option the Roast pork Rice bowl is another great option. I've been hooked and have been going regularly after work late in the evening. Another plus about Soonta is their amazing customer service. Shoutout to Mon and Ram who are these two young gentlemen who usually work the late shifts, their customer service has been nothing but exceptional. Do not order from this place. I got an uber eats voucher, In May as a gift for my hard work I do for one of my clients. I don't buy takeaways but I thought I would trust a new healthy option not far from home. NEVER AGAIN. Ordered bun bowl. Was meant to have salad. Paid an extra $6.00 for double meat. 80% of the meal I received was vermicelli noodles.
