I have been a long term customer of Tipplers but after my last visit and seeing the huge increase in prices recently I will no longer be a customer! Before Prasad the owner took over the meal for 2 was $23.00 which has now been increased to $38..00 and the Dory meal for one has increase from approximately $15. 00 to $19 50. When I went to pick up my last order (with the prices being different online) and questioned this, with the only option being battered Dory instead of crumbed, Prasad informed my that bread crumbs cost more thus the price increase. What a load of rubbish!! My friends parents own a successful fish and chip shop in Rockhampton and he said this is not true! Prasad is greedy and money driven and my previous order (prior to my last visit with battered fish was disgusting, dry and overcooked fish!!) It is a shame this is the only fish and chip shop in the area so people just have to accept the greed and price increases! To you Prasad, you should be ashamed in your rediculous mark up since you took over the business and I may only be one person to complain about this but people follow my posts and in some cases have had over well over 1000 views.! So I know this will be viewed and hopefully potential customers will think twice before ordering from you and find an alternative. You should be ashamed of your rediculous mark up on previous prices, you are a disgrace and taking advantage of being the only fish and chip shop in the area!! Oh and Prasad couldn't even be bothered to update his response to my last review re- ordering which he said he would. Does this not demonstrate how little he cares about his customers! What a...
Read moreIve been a regular patron of the Tipplers Seafood shop for around 10+ years and have enjoyed the pleasure of purchasing a great, well cooked and not so greasy meals, mainly fish n chips & their more than generous sized potato scallps with, at the time, complimentary chips, but, on my recent visit, placing my same order, 2 Battered Cod, 2 Potato Scallops, and it was only by chance that I asked the young lady "are the chips still complimentary?" to which she replied, "No, they have
nt done that for over a year now" Oh, I thought, so asked her to give me the minimum chips When we got home I was dissapointed to see that the chips looked like they were cut in half and the battered cod was dissapoitedly smaller than what I used to get on previous occasions, the battered cod was at least a third smaller than what we used to get, I know that a lot of small business owners are suffering because of the price of goods and all, and it impacts us as your customers too, so I totally understand the sacrifices you have to do in order to keep your business viable, so with all that being said, I hope that things pick up for Tipplers in the future, and also that you keep making the best, non greasy food that I have ever eaten...anywhere, even though being a bit of a shock at the amount of fish & chips I got, Im still going to order my fish n chips through you guy
s, why? Because you`re the best in town,... Read moreDisappointed. Tried Tippler’s Seafood for the first time and had a negative experience even before I got my order.
I ordered a piece of crumbed cod and mini chips (as pictured) and was charged $16.57. I was expecting the cost to be $14.90 (cod $11.95 + mini chips $2.95). When I queried the total cost I was told that there was an additional charge of $1.67 for the crumb! I’ve never before been charged an extra cost for basic crumb let alone it be so expensive.
My advice to Tippler’s, for a more positive customer experience, is to confirm the customer is aware of the additional cost of the crumbing as part of processing the order. This may prevent your future customers from potentially feeling ripped off, as I feel, and allow them to make the choice to stick with battered.
I will not be returning to this establishment again nor will I be recommending...
