Traditional India — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Happy to say things have changed for the better. April-July 2023. Breads still not great. Curries average to good.

"Soooo yummy 😋": That was my review a year ago. Wow, have things changed...

Last night was a completely different story. It was like it was cooked by completely different people. I'll try to be polite and short because these people are good people. Food: Some Curries and the Biryani burnt; Serving sizes small; Bread small, flavourless, and likely pre-packaged.

All of it was absolutely nothing like my many previous (wonderful) experiences there. It was also embarrassing because I took my family there for a christmas 🎄 meal because the food had always been so good.

They now don't deliver either (delivery available from uber), and their great "free delivery for over $50" is no longer available, though it still appears on their brochure and website.

This could all be the result of the increased cost of food and people not being able to afford restaurant food as much. It looks like we may lose a previously great Indian restaurant from this area if they continue to serve food of this low quality.

The service was fine.

I am so terribly upset to leave this type of review. I should have talked to them...

I proceeded to order online however it was not working at the time so I called the restaurant to order over the phone and someone answered the phone, I proceeded to order and she started a conversation (whilst I was speaking) to what I suppose was another staff member. I then said “hello?” As I wasn’t sure if the phone was disconnected and the woman rudely answered saying “you need to order online”. I began to tell her that I couldn’t order online, so I wish to order over the phone and she then (once again whilst I was in the middle of speaking) put the phone down and I heard her talking to someone, I had to wait for 2 minutes at least and she then came back to the phone and said “well I can’t take your order, you need to order online” extremely rudely. I then informed her that she had lost a customer due to the rude customer service. Now I understand when a restaurant is busy (I was in hospitality for years) however there is no need for such disrespect and lack of customer service skills. You need to train your staff up with respect and basic care for customers. Never...

I have largely delicious food from this place but, like many of the reviews I have read this morning, I find their service appauling

Ordered a takeaway at 655pm. Was told it would be ready in 20 minutes.I arrived at 715pm. "Just coming ". Enquired again at 735pm. "Almost ready ". Quite a significant turnover of takeaway orders while I watched and waited.

At 755pm I enquire again. Order came 5 minutes later. Asked to speak to manager. "No one here"

Had I not paid for my food on arrival I would have left a lot earlier.

I have had several similar experiences here but last night was the icing on the cake.

If they were honest enough to tell me the real waiting time I would have accepted that.

Of course you were closed. I wrote the review the next morning It's 3 weeks since I posted. I don't think that is any excuse for the failure to reply promptly. It certainly doesn't constitute an explanation for the poor service...
