I've been a customer of this place since it opened and after a few outright disgusting treats purchased, I felt it was time to write a review.
I personally feel the place gets over hyped because its vegan. Yes I am a vegan and I'm not immune to food establishments being glorified because they happen to be among the few here in Brisbane that cater to us vegans (and also not to forget those who suffer from food allergies/intolerances) But I have to speak up when I know something is amiss.
Like when my favourite item (which is the cream cheese cinnyumm) is stale and they ask if I want it zapped in the microwave to obviously soften it š yet any other time I buy one they are fresh and no one asks if I want it heated in the microwave. This has happened on quite a few occasions which annoys me because they ain't cheap at $7.50 a pop. Another time I purchased two melting moments, which again I have bought before so knew that I would like them, only to get home and take a bite of one and it not tasting how I knew it to taste. So I took a bite of the other and it tasted as gross as the first. Like something else had got mixed in with the batter? Or the flour stored closely with something quite strong? I'm not sure but they were bloody disgusting and ended up in the bin! On another visit I purchased a sausage roll which I opted to heat myself as I was short on time for them to heat it for me. When I got home I heated it in the microwave and I did think it looked a little flat and then when I started eating it that feeling was confirmed by a mouthful of pastry with a VERY flat layer of filling. Like so thin all I could taste was the pastry!!! I have since tried these again once more and it was very different to the first try. There was enough filling so I could actually taste it as a whole. It wasn't bad either.
I think overall veganyumm is very hit and miss which is a shame as when opened it seemed to ooze fresh and quality which it now does not. Evidence of this is being able to see into the kitchen, which when it first opened was a hive of baking and decorating activity to now just a sloppy mess. It's just chaotic with trays and containers all over the benches and frosting drippings everywhere. It looks grubby and unclean and the staff with no gloves on working in the kitchen, I find really off putting especially when purchasing food items.
I don't know, maybe they need to reevaluate their professionalism and climb back to the quality they once were. You can talk the talk but you gotta walk the...

Vegan bakeries have come a long way, proving that plant-based treats can be just as indulgent and delicious as their traditional counterparts. Unfortunately, my recent visit to Veganyumm was anything but satisfying. Despite the inviting ambiance and a display case filled with beautifully crafted pastries, the experience left much to be desiredāboth in taste and service.
Dry Cakes That Demand a Drink One of the biggest letdowns was the cake selection. Visually, they were stunning, but one bite revealed a different story. The texture was dryāso dry, in fact, that I found myself desperately reaching for a drink just to help it go down. A great cake should be moist and flavourful, but these crumbled apart, leaving an unpleasant chalkiness behind.
Cookies That Miss the Mark Hoping to redeem my experience, I turned to the cookies. Unfortunately, they were equally disappointing. The flavours were muted, lacking the depth or richness you'd expect from a well-balanced vegan treat. Instead of a crisp or chewy texture, they were strangely gooey in a way that clung to my teethāmore of a chore to eat than a delight.
Service That Leaves a Bad Taste Beyond the food, the service was shockingly poor. Despite waiting patiently, I was ignored while customers who arrived after me were served first. What made it even more uncomfortable was the pattern I noticedāthe only customers receiving friendly smiles and prompt service were white. It could have been a coincidence, but the consistent dismissiveness left a sour impression that was hard to ignore.
Final Verdict While I had high hopes for Veganyumm, the reality was underwhelming. A bakery canāt rely on aesthetics alone; taste and hospitality matter just as much. With dry cakes, bland cookies, and questionable service, I left feeling unwelcome and unsatisfied. Hopefully, they take the necessary steps to improve because, as of now, this is not a spot Iād rush back to.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would chose 0 star if I could. Had terrible experience with this bakery contacted them to pre order wedding cake and they only get back to you every 5 days very slow communication. I asked for wedding cake and delivery and they were happy to have my order on the list. They not even able to issue proper invoice I had 2 different ordered and the were sending me one invoice for both items . Asked them 3 times to fix the invoice and I noticed delivery is not added to the invoice and upon asking she just said they dont deliver and its normal many people pick up their wedding cake on the day ! I was shocked as it was impossible for us to arrange that and it was only 7 days to the wedding . And she was like if I dont receive the payment by tonight its cancelled. Likely I reach out a professional cake baker who was the venue recommendation and they took the order it only took 30 minutes with them to process the order finalise everything with proper invoicing also very polite they deliver a beautiful cake to the wedding. This place is far away from being customer friendly and professional. She is rude and her excuse was miscommunication. Well you better to read your orders carefully and understand that delivery is essential on wedding cakes . If you fully booked easily can say that in advance instead of wasting customer's time I dont accept any explanation from you. I hope this review saves other...
