Had a wonderful meal at Vagus with my partner this evening. The food was fantastic and very affordable, even if the menu was a little confused and a few items were not available. This place has real potential but the ambience does need a little work IMO. The lighting is harsh and this makes a few of the tables a little uninviting - candles instead of down lights would make a huge difference to give the space warmth. A cocktail menu would be excellent too; even a small one. We had the dips, the Bao buns and prawn tacos to share and all the dishes were delicious and generously portioned. Read moreThe whole experience was just incredibly awkward... they didn't have 3 dishes available to order, they didn't even greet us on entry. I asked if we just find a seat ourselves and we sat down, no offer of water or a menu happened at all in the 10 minutes we were sitting there. When I went to order, another customer asked about a missing ingredient in her food and then I watched the waitress use her bare hands to scoop it out of the container in the kitchen.
