I don’t usually write negative reviews but my mum asked me to so here we go.
We went here for my mum’s birthday around a few weeks ago and my family (of four) went for the ayce buffet.
Firstly, the worst part about it was how unfair it was that there was only a 5 dish order limit per round, and you were not allowed to order more until you’ve received AND finished the plates you already ordered (all within a 90min time limit!!). To make it (much, much!) worse, it took them ages to bring out each dish, despite the restaurant not even being that full. My parents, who have a background in working in restaurants and coming from Hong Kong, could tell with just one bite that the dim sum quality wasn’t even that fresh. If the dim sum were all made beforehand, it should be brought out much faster.
Additionally, when it came to desserts, we ordered the mango pancakes and the coconut jelly. The picture showed that we would get two pieces of the mango pancake, and we only got one. Similarly, we only got one piece of the coconut jelly. We brought this up with the waitress and she said it was strange and that it should be more, without following it up further despite saying she would with the chefs.
My thoughts? Don’t offer a buffet to your customers if you’re going to be overly stingy. It becomes a negative experience both for the customers and for the staff members who have to keep reminding the customers about the 5 dish limit. It might be more worth for just 1-2 people. However, for a family of 4, 5 steamers are gone within minutes just for us to have to wait another 20 for them to all arrive. You already stated in the rules that we would be held liable for a food wastage charge, so I don’t see why a limit should be set in place if the reason was to prevent “wastage” (which the staff members kept...
Read moreFood quality was okay (the fried rice was super dry) but I don’t know if they’re simply under staffed or tried to delay the order so people couldn’t order more within the limited time.
The whole all you can eat experience was just a joke, either no food coming for the longest period or they all arrived at the same time. And yes, we got 5 dishes that we ordered 20mins ahead and all showed at once just 5mins before our time’s up. We were lucky enough to stopped a waitstaff and asked them to chase our order down, otherwise the food would never come!
We were there at 6pm and the whole iced tea were out of order soon after our first order due to they didn’t have enough chilled tea for it, so the whole “All you can drink” options now only had 3/4 left. The under prepared drink and food issue also happened to the mango pancakes (I was really excited about it), sesame balls and egg tarts, they were all gone by 7pm and the customers weren’t that many before it. Surely they can prepare more food and drinks before reopening for the dinner rush right?
I feel the restaurant just wasn’t prepared for the all you can eat at all. Not enough staff, food and drink, all of these elements made our experience extremely disappointed and frustrated.
If you don’t do all you can eat, the quality of food compared to the price is just not worth it at all anyway. This is one of the very few restaurant that I would never recommend and even bother to...
Read moreRecently I visited this location for yum cha experience compared to other one's this was the worst experience ever. Poor customer service, mild clearness and atmosphere Food- under cook and no flavour tasted very off, most of it i tried. The worst experience, was all you can eat for 55 dollars per person. After my partner and I got this we wanted to try few dishes and ended up not liking the chicken in soya sauce it tastes cold and under cook, chicken wings raw and very oily taste made me want to throw up, undercooked noodles with no flavour. Upon paying i realise I was charged extra for food I didnt want to finish because it tasted awful so the restaurant decided to charge us 55 pp to eat all you can than charge extra on top if you don't finish them just to throw it in the bin in there kitchen but not allowed to sell containers to take those left over home , its all about food wastage . I still don't understand this policy and would like to be investigated. How is it food wastage when customer have paid for a meal to eat and now its there to finish or not, and they charged extra for not finishing it but not given an option to take it home? After customers are charged for not finishing the meal that touched food/ unfinished food goes to the bin in the restaurant obviously you or your staff don't eat it ? So apart from ripping customers off there is not avoiding food wastage .
Do not recommend this restaurant to...
