We Stopped here on our way up the coast during our Easter retreat. We're not usually big pie eaters and would normally steer away from them, but with limited options available, we decided to give it a go — and we were not disappointed!
Sure, there wasn’t a huge selection left (understandable during a busy holiday period), but I’m convinced it’s more about the quality than a lack of choice. The pies were packed with a generous amount of filling. the pastry was magnificanly thin, and it held up beautifully without falling apart. The seasoning and flavours were spot-on — easily some of the best pies we've ever had.
We also grabbed two sausage rolls, and they didn’t miss the mark either. Tender texture, great flavour — far beyond the usual sausage sizzle style. Honestly, as good as a sausage roll gets.
We would highly recommend stopping here, grabbing a few pastries and drinks to go, and heading to the Grandis picnic area (15 mins drive) for a nice meal with a view (70m high gum tree!!). As for the pricing — yes, it might be on the higher side, but considering the location and the Easter holiday period, it’s understandable.
All the best to the team — looking forward to our next...

What should have represented vanilla egg custard, was, I'm sure, water with egg yellow cochineal set with gelatin or possibly cornflour. I dropped it in the river and it sunk quickly not even breaking up. The pastry wasn't flaky and the icing was thin and not smooth more like sugar crystals. The caramel tart was the hero, the caramel lovely and case was equally as nice. The caramel chocolate slice was ruined by thick tooth breaking cheap cooking chocolate and the base tasted burnt over buttered crumbly in parts and firmly dense in others. The cream bun was stale like, not light and fluffy, the cream was like that American cool whip or a type of mock, it had a nice cinnamon and fruit component and...

First up, their pies are straight-up divine; each bite is a symphony of savory delight that'll make your taste buds do a happy dance. But hold onto your fork because their vanilla slices are a whole different story—imagine a flavorless slab of disappointment with a side of regret. And oh boy, let's talk about their customer service. The staff's favorite pastime seems to be yelling at customers to close the door, as if it's the end of the world, and muttering colorful phrases about "bloody tourists." It's like being served sarcasm with a side of attitude. So, if you're ready for a culinary adventure mixed with a dash of chaos, step right up to Buladelah Bakery. Just don't forget to close the door behind you, unless you...
