Primula Cafe & Restaurant — Restaurant in Bundanoon

TL;DR: good service, good food, generous proportions - be mindful of surcharge! Tea pot prone to dripping - slight worry about safety.

The food and service were lovely, but I do wish that I had been informed of the "take-away eaten in" surcharge rather than being relied upon my seeing it on one of the boards (the only one of which I had not looked at for my meal option). I believe that is more due to policy than a fault of the staff. I did not necessarily mind paying the extra $3 as the portions are very generous and overall still felt good value, like I genuinely could not finish the plate, but I would have much preferred using that money to tip the staff.

I also had a bit of trouble with the tea pot as it's not designed with a clean pour in mind and either dripped on the floor/table or needed to have a napkin held underneath which gets hot very quickly. Honestly, a bit of a safety hazard when it comes to boiling water, so 3 stars unfortunately. If...

This place was much better way back, but recently before the old Owners left the standards were seriously lacking. This 3 star is coming from my old long time experience with the old Owners, and while food was good- eventually ordering a large chips at like 7 bucks only came at less than the size of a small?? Did like the burgers and had never tried the coffee- but it was a decent place, just wish things had picked up the pace.

HOWEVER! Very excited to see the new rennovations when they've been finished and will finally dine in as the old place while nostalgic- again, lacking in a lot of standards. Hopefully this'll be a better start for the Primula, can't wait for the...

We had dinner there recently, we chose from the eat-in menus. The service from beginning to end was delivered with a smile and a passion that showed they all enjoyed being there. In fact I don't think I've ever been in a Cafe with such happy, cheery workers before, it was refreshing and made our night even better. The venue is decorated in a charming eclectic fashion, it looked cluttered but fun. It was clean and warm. Our food was very nice and the serving sizes were very generous.
