I went here with my husband for lunch. You do have to show your vaccine certificate when you enter. Finding an empty table was easy as although there were other customers in store, there is plenty of room to socially distance. There are lots of seating areas and different types of sitting, as you would expect from Dome. The menu is vast and there are plenty of food options. There are milk options available as well. You order at the till and tell the cashier where you are sitting.
The staff are excellent, very friendly and quick to resolve problems.
I had a milkshake, which was so good, I ended up having 2, and the burger meal. Unfortunately, my burger was raw and cold in the middle but Imogen took it back and I got a new burger meal. Not my old burger recooked but a completely fresh meal. The quality and quantity of the meal was excellent. I ended up taking my 2nd milkshake away with me and the lovely girl at the till was pleasant and friendly.
My husband had a chocka rocka expresski which came with cream and chocolate on the top and the sliders meal. Again quality and quantity was excellent.
The food is very filling and there is also a lovely display of cakes, for those wanting to end their meal on a sweet note or just craving something sweet. The cakes on display looked very fresh and appetising, although we didn't get any due to time and stomach size constraints.
There is plenty of parking around the store and also al fresco dining by a little brook, which is also a nice place to sit and eat.
There are toilet facilities which were clean.
All in all, I would go again, but probably just for cheesecake and...
Read moreMy children and I regularly have lunch here. On this occasion, I felt utterly embarrassed by another patron who stood across from me and shook his head. Upon speaking to him he said 'this is not okay, I'm trying to have my coffee'. He was responding to my children whom were playing on the staircase. My eldest child would be noisy and consistently using the stairs to play. I tried to control it best I could.
What this man doesn't know is that my child has a development issue incapable of sitting still and lacks impulsion control similar to ADHD. I'd already packed my lunch into a doggy bag and told the staff I was leaving.
The customer and staff showed zero compassion for me and my family with little tolerance for my children.
I'm rather disappointed because the stigma this guy showed is of a parent who hasn't got a handle of a child, but instead it's quite the opposite. I felt embarrassed and pressured to leave.
I am disappointed in society and their attitude toward children of all neurodivergency. I was looked down on like a bad parent, when in fact I was doing the best I can with two children on my own trying to enjoy some lunch at our favourite spot.
Its an example of the lack of compassion society show toward children and people of disability. People don't recognise it. If they 'look' disabled enough, oh that's okay. People stare, criticising you and shaming you for what they don't know.
I thought this was...
Read moreI went to take my mother to Dome for breakfast this morning as a treat.
We had finished our breakfast but could not finish our beverages so I went to ask the lady behind the counter in the black uniform this morning if I could please have a cup from the counter.
This “Karen” was very rude and argumentative and unprofessional. She responded rather abruptly and told me to get it from around the corner but I tried to explain to her that I wanted a lid as well which is why I wanted the coffee cup from the counter as the cups around the corner did not fit the coffee lids.
She responded with “well yes they do!!” And I said I tried it does not she and they again argued with me.
Then an epiphany the penny dropped in her limited mental capacity and she rudely pointed to the lids that would fit the cups at the condiment station, and muttered something rudely under her breath.
Number one don’t treat your customers in this unprofessional manner I simply asked for a cup not the holy grail sweetheart
Number two smile crack a smile on your dial it might actually compensate for your resting dog face
Number three unfortunately this is not a branch I would recommend to friends and family because of this experience and I will certainly be spreading the word on...
