Being new to Cairns, I decided to pop in and order some fresh juice from the juice bar. The older lady who served was lovely. Unfortunately, the service and the preparation of the juice was underwhelming. For starters, the young blonde girl who was serving me forgot about my order. 3 people came after me got server and when she noticed me still waiting she quickly apologised and proceeded to make my drink. Mistakes happen, I wasn't in a hurry so that didn't really bother me. What I found shocking was the handling of the fruits. She had one glove on one hand and the other was bare.I literally watched her opening, closing and touching surfaces with both hands. The one with the glove and the one without. She dipped her hands into the fresh fruits, separating them with both hands ,put them in the juicer, wiped one hand on her clothes, proceeded to open and close more of their storage, used both hands again to pick and separate the fruits, touching more of the unused ones and then picked up my straw with her bare hand and gave it to me. That was disgusting to watch. Because she was in a hurry to make the juice she had forgotten, she quickly filled it and handed it to me. My large juice ended up being half foam from the juicing, and half of the juice I paid $9 for.Im pregnant and suffice to say it went straight to the bin. Watching both the young girls handling food( the blonde and brunette with a nose piercing),I think they should go through another tutorial of food hygiene,because...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I decided to try the food at Crave as it was highly recommended to us by a friend. We ordered the "Mr. Benny" and the "Power Ranger" meal at Crave, it was fantastic! Our meals didnt take long to come out even though it was extremely busy. The Eggs Benedict with sautéed spinach, sautéed mushrooms, and hollandaise sauce on ciabatta bread was a delightful combination. The Power Ranger meal was a colourful feast with scrambled tofu, sautéed mushrooms, delicious pickled cabbage, kale, asparagus, ciabatta, tahini sauce and beetroot hummus. I don't normally eat much vegetarian food, I had to try this as soon as my eyes came across it on the menu! What a beautiful variety of delicious foods and so pretty! My boyfriend and I had to share our meals as it was so delicious. Definitely deserving of a five-star rating!" 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟 🌟 We also ordered a coffee each and a fresh juice called "Mr Beet" which contains apple, beetroot, carrot and ginger. 😍
We will definitely be back! The food was so divine, very well priced, much less expensive than alot of cafes in Cairns considering the amount of food we received and the location. Service was friendly and prompt.
Next time I will bring my dog, so he can try out the...
Read moreToday I was looking forward to trying something different but all I could taste was burnt. These were the fritters (shown in the picture) I got and they were burnt.
I sat the plate in front of me as I couldn’t eat any more all I could taste was burnt. I was waiting to see if anyone would come over to check if it’s ok but no one noticed.
It wasn’t overly busy but no one came over. So I asked of one of the staff members if it was normal here but was told it’s how it’s suppose to be.. in that case if it’s normal then perhaps it’s not the restaurant for me..
If this is not suppose to be burnt and it was a mistake in the kitchen I would have accepted money back and give this restaurant another try
I wasn’t offered any kind of refund. I was only asked if I wanted to get it changed but I had to go I couldn’t wait that long. Then I was asked if I wanted it in a takeaway but I couldn’t eat it at the restaurant so of course I wouldn’t want to eat it at home - I only took a few bites and ate mostly the sweet potato and the other egg.
On the plus side the juice was good, the sweet potato was good, the eggs were cooked perfectly but I just didn’t like the burnt taste in my mouth. The service could...
