We decided to check out this place because it was very busy. However, it took very long to get into the restaurant and it took a long time to be given a seat and when we were it was with another group of people who decided to eat here. Then we had to wait more than an hour for the food to come. The staff service was below average also as none of them apologized for the long wait that we had to endure. We also saw other tables being served before us even though they arrived after us. Even though the food seems quite nice, this does not make up for the extremely long wait, laughable service if they can even call it "service" and inexperience of the restaurant. The only reason you see good reviews is because they came from a very long time ago. Since then it is most likely that the manager changed or the staff has been changed also. They also forgot our orders and to tell us beforehand that they had sold out one product that we had already paid for. I would highly recommend not going to this place and this place definitely deserves a one star despite the numerous reviews that...
Read moreI came here with a local of Cairns in Feb 2018, and my go-to Thai food (at least in the states) is pad kee mao. I didn't see it on the menu, so I asked if they had it. The cashier said she could request it for me, and so I got a spicy pad kee mao with tofu. It came out super quickly, and I liked that there were a lot of vegetables. It was SUPER oily though; seeing all that oil made me pretty sick. It also tasted really oily, and I wasn't a big fan. I ended up elevating my plate a bit so the oil would drain downward a bit, but it didn't help too much. The noodles had the right amount of chewiness, and the vegetables and tofu were plentiful. For whatever reason, there was a stinky sort of taste to my food; it's usually caused by bamboo I believe, but there was no sign of bamboo in my food. I'm not entirely sure what was up with that. Portions were pretty good for 14.5 AUD, and I was full (but feeling heavy from all the oil) afterward. There's a good amount of seating, and order first...
Read moreMouthwateringly delicious food here! This place is easy to miss as it doesn’t look like much. However small this place is its still quite packed. We were looking for gluten free items that were coeliac friendly, and after talking to the wait staff I was satisfied that they were going to be careful with my food. We ordered a Thai Fried rice, sweet chilli while fish, spring rolls( not gf) and two house made drinks; iced coffee and lemon ice tea. YUM!!! Drinks were amazing and really tasted authentic. Not too sweet and just nice. The food too was so yum that we ended up ordering a pad Thai to eat later because we didn’t want to miss out on not trying it! It was delicious by the way! A hidden treasure of a place and one that I would love to visit again for all my meals if possible. For the coeliacs out there, the menu had a few items that were made gluten free so there really was a lot of choice. Can’t wait to try it again!
