The self-proclaimed Wagyu Beef and Seafood Buffet with 90 minutes of eating time.
In reality, the 90 minute timer starts when you place your first order (6:38pm) through the QR code. The hotpot soup came out after 30 minutes of placing the order (7:08pm) which effectively gave us only 60 minutes of eating time, unless they expected us to start eating the raw seafood and meatballs without the soup.
Halfway through the ‘buffet’ we were advised they ‘ran out’ of wagyu beef. Being a well-mannered group we politely expressed our disappointment as that was the main reason we decided to opt for the $55 buffet. The waitress had another look in the kitchen/freezer and brought out one miserable plate of wagyu beef to be shared amongst 9 people. The wagyu beef was still frozen as a block of beef. I think it’s fair to be disappointed by this based on the fact that they a) advertise the buffet as an all-you-can eat Wagyu beef, and b) we weren’t advised prior to sitting down at the table that they ran out of Wagyu beef. This is just the start to our miserable dining experience.
When it came time to settle the bill, the waitress didn’t hesitate to scoop everything in the soup and was about to start weighing the contents inside the soup to calculate the ‘wastage’, keeping in mind the soup does come with ingredients such as red dates, chillies etc.
Admittedly, we did over order some noodles which were still uncooked which totalled 300g (wastage charged at $8/100g). No offer was made by the waitresses to compromise on lack of Wagyu beef to offset the cost of wastage of the noodles. The offer to call it even was refused by the waitress. The real cost of the noodles would’ve been a few dollars at most, instead she proceeded to charge us $24 for a bowl of uncooked noodles and charged each of us full price of $55/person for the hotpot.
The whole experience left a very sour taste and we would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Yes, mistakes happen such as running out of Wagyu beef.
However, not giving us advance notice prior to sitting down that there was no more Wagyu beef, not being apologetic that they ran out of Wagyu beef, not being willing to negotiate and compromise on the situation we were in and waiting 30 minutes for the hotpot soup to come out (which is considered to be in our 90 minute eating window) is inexcusable.
Stay away. There are plenty of other better value hotpot restaurants with much better customer...
Read moreReally disappointing !!! Charged us for 9 people eating buffets plus single meals ($613) even though we only had 5 for buffet and 4 people ordered off the menu (both elderly nan, and kids) from our phone order it said $180 for 1 table and $288 =$468 (with the extra single meals ordered) their reasoning was because we were using up 2 hot pot tables ! Despite numerous attempts to correct and talk to them throughout the meal, they brushed it off and said it’s ok they got it sorted! Even with proof of the single item meals ordered and the buffet eaters equaling to 9 pax order, they still said they were charging despite correcting our number or people eating the buffet before being seated, YES, we confirmed 4 for hotpot and that the rest of our family will be arriving soon and we don’t know how many of them are having the buffet. When they arrived they had confirmed their 1 buffet eater. This is such poor service and quite disappointing to be honest with you! We questioned the way to order numerous times and advised if we could order separately so we don’t get mix ups, but they said to order off the iPad if we couldn’t use the barcode. Just such an ugly experience when it was supposed to be so simple. WILL NEVER AGAIN dine in here!!!! If you are thinking of eating here, DONT!!! There are plenty other options not far up the road that will possibly be a better option....
Read moreHad the newly added all you can eat hotpot for $55 Wagyu Beef was the worst quality i had in my life, the service was extremely slow, took 30 mins after ordering to even bring out the soup and the restaurant was extremely quiet only 1 other table who had their food already before we arrived which makes me think they are purposely wasting your 1.5 hr ordering time and 2 hr eating time on purpose to your not able to have enough time to eat much and also to make you pay for the wasteage which is $8 per 100g, Food came extremely slowly for it being RAW FOOD that just needed to be put on a plate. We tried our best between the 4 of us to finish the food in the time we had left, did a really good job, pretty much finished everything, but when paying the bill, they said we need to pay for wastage which they weighed it to be 300g (between 4 its less than 100g each) and they also added vegetables and some soup at the bottom which was included in the weight trying to make it look like we had more food wastage, like come on how much do vegetables cost, they also had some vegetables that came inside the soup that is not the one we ordered and they did not even bother to remove the soup at the bottom of the container they used to weigh the wastage.........Cheater and scammers at this place!...
