We placed an order via uber eats and the food was inedible. After being advised by Uber eats had to ring China Bar which we did and was advised to come in and would give a refund as they were at fault as they cooked the meal. Having been so sick since eating the meal went in there today and explained to the lady what happened and what was advised. She rang her manager and he refused to give a refund and was very rude. The lady said her boss said could order something else which we begrudgingly did and agreed on Hainese Chicken rice amd would tell the chef not to cook it as long. We order also ordered large roast pork belly, chicken fried rice and shanghai dumplings which they throw in for the inconvenience. We came back after 20 mins and waited an additional 10 mins and was given our order in a bag. We get home take our order out and it was hainese steamed chicken, the shanghai dumplings (4), the chicken fried rice and another fried rice no roast pork. Rang and spoke to the lady who put me on to another man explained we didn't get the roast pork but 2 fried rice. He spoke to the lady and then came back and said that they gave the order to the kitchen and they refused to give the roast pork as they don't make any money. I said we had already paid for a meal $72.70 that was inedible and what you gave us wasn't the same dollar value. Then they hung up on me. I rang back got the same man he put me on to the lady who we dealt with this afternoon and I said you rang your manager and he approved she said yes he did but the kitchen refused. I said if that was the case you should have advised us so could pick something else as now we have 2 fried rice. The lady said well we are not doing anything else or giving you anything else snd hung up on me. Very I professional, no customer service very rude. You pay good money for their food and refused a refund and the staff were rude and the manager just didn't care. Even said just have a gift voucher and would eat at Midland China Bar as their food was very nice. Don't recommend and will never order or eat there ever again at Carousel China Bar. A rip off order 1 thing and give you something else and don't even tell you when giving you the order....

We've been to China Bar Carousel a few times already and we must admit that we have been having an amazing experience here. Our first experience here was purely by luck as we're craving some roasted dish/Asian dish on a cold Friday arvo around 3pm where most restaurants are closed during this hour, we then came across a few Asian restaurants at the second floor of Carousel and at first we're having a dilemma at choosing a restaurant, in the end, we've finally decided to give China Bar a crack and we're glad to have made this decision!

Experience has been top notch here at China Bar from the first time stepping into the restaurant, we're warmly greeted by their friendly staff and we're sat on a pretty comfy table. Then, one of the staff was very attentive, he approached us asking if we needed any suggestions regarding the menu and he patiently explained the menu to us since it was our first time there.

It didn't take long for the dishes to be delivered to our table - in less than 10mins which is very rare for an Asian restaurant, considering the fact that some dishes that we ordered require "work frying", etc. The dishes came out to be super fine and not gonna lie, they're also very well presented (check out the photos)!

Due to the exceptionally great experience during our first visit, we've since become a regular patron and we're glad that the quality and quantity are well maintained. What I like the most is that unlike other typical Asian restaurants, you wouldn't feel greasily full after consuming the food.

P.S. you'd be well fed with fresh and quality food.

Quality - 10/10 Quantity - 10/10 Consistency -...

We visited China Bar on Sunday for dinner. We were so disappointed with service and food that we will never return. Firstly the service was appalling, whereby we waited at the entrance and staff just kept walking past us, instead of asking did we want a table, this was after trying to get her attention, she pretended. It to hear us. The staff were near kitchen chatting and laughing instead of serving customers. It took another customer that had just arrived at restaurant, to advise the waitress that we were waiting. She again ignored us and went on to serve the new customer. We eventually went over and said we would like to sit and order dinner. That was a sign that we should have left the restaurant.

We ended up ordering food as we were starving. The only decent food was chicken and corn soup, but it came out so hot that we had to wait ages before we could eat it. It arrived with all the other food, even after I had mentioned to her to only bring soup and spring rolls. Once all food arrived, we tasted the chicken fried rice which had no taste whatsoever, and we just couldn’t eat. We complained to waitress and she refunded the money for fried rice. It was after that when we tasted the Beef with mixed veg. This was also a terrible dish, but didn’t think we could complain as we had already advised them the rice wasn’t nice. We didn’t eat that dish either and paid and left, but will never return.

In summary, this was a very expensive Chinese meal that...

Mixed feelings about the food but service was prompt and faultless. We ordered the chili chicken with rice (szechuan chicken with rice on their online site), chicken congee, Shanghai dumpling, steamed pork and prawn rolls, wontons in spicy chili oil and two glasses of ice lemon tea. Chili chicken did not match what was shown on the menu, was a pale imitation of it and it tasted ok. Not great, not bad. Chicken congee was passable if a tad bland. The Shanghai dumplings were tough and had their skin broken whilst steaming so there was no pocket of soup inside the dumpling. The steamed pork and prawn rolls were saltish from the oyster sauce on it. The wontons in chili oil was the dim sum dish with the least issues because it was bland. The best item that we ordered was the ice lemon teas. We had dim sum yesterday at Fine China and it was levels ahead of the fare put forth today. Good for a quick fix but don't expect the food here to amaze you.

Absolutely horrible experience ordering uber eats from China bar, spent over $190 once uber took their cut and this is what I got: - cheap dumplings you can find at any frozen Asian section in Coles or Woolworths - Duck was flavourless and dry - Counted 3 whole cut up de-hydrated mushrooms tossed with frozen "asian" mix, that was 80% rice inside the container - I don't know how you manage to put a full handful of cheap dried whole chilli's in the king po chicken and still have absolutely no taste - bbq pork tasted like it was sweating or poached - didn't come with any dipping sauce at all, no complementary crunchy chilli oil or soy sauce like every other Chinese restaurant, just two half full containers a really really salty broth Complete and utter rip off, avoid at all cost, never again, honestly would like some sort of a refund just to remove the taste from my mouth
