TGI Fridays Carousel — Restaurant in Cannington

around 12:30pm for lunch ,waited to be seated and waitress just stood there staring at us, never even said welcome to tgi Fridays and we said table for 2 please, she then took us to a table that was close to other people so won't be sitting there crammed in, the other tables on offer were a table for 2 in the middle of the restaurant and another up against the wall, there were other tables but she said you can't sit there as they are booked, so took the middle of the restaurant table ,got menus , she never came back this was about 10 mins later, then a booked table with 5 people came and she was taking there order, ignoring us we had been already waiting by now 15 mins , by the time the waitress had taken our order could have been 50 mins to 1 hr for our order to have come to the table seems she was attending to people who had booked a table, we then walked out , I suggest if only 2 people are going you won't be treated very well, seems they only look after tables of 4 or more, not what you want when going to restaurant for a meal , very disappointing won't be going back there , I got a response from management saying , they do have bookings and seats can be limited, so I suggest on arrival that you ask if they have seats available, bearing in my mind they will seat you were they choose , and like us you could be so close to other people, seating is not good , no privacy between seating at all,I was asked to come bk in the hope I have a better experience, but no offer of a free drink or meal , not that I would have accepted but would have been nice to have been offered,I have had 2034 people view my post so far on local guides no futher response from tgi Fridays, hope this is helping people decide through this revue, please let me know if this is still happening would be good to know if they have made any...

I could’ve been probably written this review while waiting for our food it took that long. Thought we’d get out for once and try their new $35 bottomless platter we’ve seen online, unfortunately it didn’t live up to the hype. For starters we were waiting over an hour for our first platter to come out, I am certain they forgot about us because they had to put a rush on it in the kitchen, even though when we first arrived the guy at the counter said he had put it through. Service was almost non existent, I can understand it was busy being a Thursday night but multiple times servers walked past our table as they served others before even looking at us. I felt bad having to ask for assistance because if I didn’t we would’ve been sitting there all night waiting. As for the platter, you would think when you’ve both ordered a $35 platter that they would come out at the same time.. well no we were told you have to finish the first platter together and than they will bring out another.. why am I paying $70 for 2 people than? I saw other tables having multiple platters at once so it was confusing, and because it took so long between platters to actually come out (35mins) by the time the next one arrived we were pretty over it. I’m really disappointed because the food on the platter was beauitful but between wait times and the really crappy service I don’t think I’ll be coming here again. Nothing feels worse than when the guest host (man) is eyeing off your table because you’ve “been there too long” when in reality we’ve only just got our food because of the lack of communication. The women working there were lovely and I apologise for having to pester you guys about our order and drinks so much, it was busy and I imagine if our order was put through when we were told it...

Recently returned here after awhile. I had an old review that I have now deleted, but in the past I always had an issue with one particular female staff who was really unpleasant to deal with.

But I’m glad that my recent experience was so much better. Overall, I was pretty impressed with my lunch. Service was exceptional. Manager directed us to the table with clear instructions about what to expect.

Staff came for the order quite timely, and have at least twice checked on us to make sure everything is ok. They didn’t force nor expect us to use the table ordering, which I really appreciate as sometime its just nice to have interaction with a real person.

Food was even better than I remembered. Ribeye steak was perfectly cooked and I liked how it came straight off the grill without getting masked with butter or sauces (how I like a steak to be served). Ribs were great. Kids meal was good too.

In particular I have high commendation for the manager and how he manages his staff. i can hear him making sure his crew was looking after the guests. The unpleasant staff that I had issue with before don’t seem to work there anymore too, replaced with a more friendly and caring staff. It was a different vibe altogether.

You can also hear the dynamics in the kitchen which gave the impression of a working and functioning kitchen staff. The chefs seemed to enjoy themselves and the food reflected that.

All in all, there has been a definite improvement that both me and my wife noticed and we look forward to...
