Spent $60 yesterday on 3 meals including blue grenadier and chips. Disappointingly the blue grenadier stunk and tasted of ammonia and it was inedible - it also had a yellow tinge to the flesh in some places. Upon returning it to the store politely I was met with an extremely patronising manager or owner (?) who insisted that as a deep seafish it's normal for blue grenadier to have an ammonia smell/ flavour. As my go to fish I completely disagree and was disappointed with this response. I got my money back for that pack and won't be returning. 2 stars because the flake was OK (but chips were dry and stale).
Edit in response: I think your response to my feedback says it all. I was not having a "dig" at the person behind the counter, I walked in and said "I'm sorry but I wanted to bring this fish back as it smells strongly of ammonia and is inedible" there was then a good space of silence where he was looking at the returned food and then you came over. In hindsight I should have asked for a manager in that space of silence, however I thought he was listening and trying to see my issue. I didn't want to walk into the store demanding a manager.
This response reinforces our decision not to return, but please pass on my apologies to that staff member for raising the problem with them and in doing so making them...
Read moreCame in and placed 2 orders for 2 lots of people, ordered $54 worth in one order, and $43 in the other. The chicken burger was bland, the chips are severely soggy and tasteless, the Dagwood dog was soggy along with the fried dim sims. Weâve âtaste testedâ the food, and have decided to throw the remaining out. With the way the economy is and to charge such a high amount youâd expect a bit more of a decent feed. I live in Vic and for that price over there the food is delectable and cooked properly.
Response to âAnthony the ownerâ: Anthony, the way you handle feedback is utterly appalling. I can confirm, I called up at 6:10pm (refer photo attached), I did not advise I would collect at 6:15, I was told on the phone from your staff member that my order would be ready in 15 minutes, to which I pulled into the carpark and paid at 6:32PM. So please ensure you obtain the correct information before you slam a customer for giving you feedback. There is always room for improvement within any business, and this was merely feedback for you to perhaps improve. Your comments towards all the negative reviews are just an example of the lack of customer service you are providing. It appears that the âfreshnessâ of the food is a continuous concern between customers. Perhaps take on the feedback....
Read moreThis is a local fishing shop.A family business using their own boat. I love and support them. The only sad thing is they sell also the fish farmed Atlantic Salmon. I support the land fishfarming if it is truly sustainable, healthy for both fish and land, and healthy to eat. I strongly disagree with the fish farming in our seas surrounding Tasmania. These fish belong to the Canadian Atlantic region. We need to preserve our own sea environment. Multinational companies destroy ecosystems. They make money buy exporting and never cleanup disasters leaving behind diseases and polluting our shores. The cost of fish is too high and fishing rights, taxes have destroyed local family industries. I remember buying my fresh fish right off the boat when it came in. The local other fish and chips are never local fish. It is...
