It is not often a venue is found that is not only unique but is visually spectacular.
A 7am visit to Verona Devonport has rewarded us with a quiet romantic dining experience before the rest of the world wakes up.
It is difficult not to wander around to look at the amazing attention to detail and character around every corner. You can feel the passion in what is before you.
The classic eggs Benedict (with as requested soft bacon 🥓) and the smashed avocado 🥑 (with bacon) were both delicious.
The almond lattes were amazing in strength but unfortunately left a bitter aftertaste. But in saying that good enough to have a second.
The staff were pleasant and prompt without making us feel rushed in deciding what to order. If we are being picky, the only real improvement would be the warmth of the staff which we understand can be difficult at an early hour and when dealing with difficult customers all day. On the same token it’s important for us to remember to be warm & understanding to staff as well.
The chef was visible from her Italian themed kitchen and although obviously busy took the time to say hi.
Ambient music was gentle and appropriate for the atmosphere, enabling us to talk and discuss the day to come.
All in all, 4 Stars here. A little on the pricey side however you are rewarded with good food and a visually...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked in, the staff instantly made us feel welcome. What a great start! In fact all of the staff were such nice and amazing people. They took care of us, gave us suggestions on what to order, checked in on us every so often and just made the night so special. Also, special shout-out to Alex, Charlize and Lj as our main waiters/waitresses. Onto the atmosphere, it was an amazing venue, very beautiful. Now onto the best part…the food!😋 Our first meal was the calamari and it was really delicious and tasty, with an unusual drizzle of honey on it which somehow worked really well. My pasta I ordered (the gnocchi) was delicious!! Everything was just perfect. My dad and brother ordered a pizza each which literally tasted like my own dad’s pizza basically taking me back home. And my mum got a lasagna too which was also really tasty. After we finished, we just had to end with dessert and we did not regret it. Me and my brother shared the lava cake which was just outright incredible. My parents ordered a coffee soft serve ice cream which was surprisingly nice even though I’m not the best fan of coffee even though I’ve haven’t tried enough of it 😂. But overall, what a night to remember. Thank you so much Verona, we will try and come back to Tassie just to come...
Read moreWe blew in to town as our base for the Deloraine craft fair and went looking for Dinner. When you walk in you see what looks like a take away pizza shop, and as you follow your waitress in to the restaurant proper, it opens up and wow! Very impressive atrium and a separate Bar. All tables booked and shoulder to shoulder patrons. You could just feel the vibe of the place.
The wine and drinks list is extensive, and the menu isn't, but what we had was very good. The Margherita pizza for entree had a crisp crust and tasted great. I don't usually eat the outer crust(what can I say, I'm a man child) but I did this time. My Ocean trout was wonderful and my wife's cannelloni was great as well. The Tiramisu for desert capped a great meal. Writing this the next morning, I'm sorry I'm not the type of person that takes pictures of their meal, as I would have shared them with you.
The staff were everywhere, but still attentive and full cudos to them and the kitchen. There were several large groups so service was a bit slow, but we had lovely meals in a great space, with a nice "vibe" and I had my photo taken with their piece of rolling art, a Ducati motor bike. We had a very nice evening that we will share with others again when we...
