We went to Gravy and more after reading all the great reviews online. Our high expectations quickly evaporated. Here our thoughts:

  1. Option selected for sparkling wine was not available. Selected another option. Sever brought it in and was visibly flat. The attendant had no clue how the sparkling wine should be served.
  2. Attendant wearing very informal attire with macpac jacket - clearly not a fine dining service establishment.
  3. Chicken tikka was prepared out of chicken breast. It was very dry. We have never been service tikka made from chicken breast in any Indian restaurant ever.
  4. Main dish had chicken pieces cut up in tiny cubes. I was expecting a wholesome thigh fillet as normally is the case. Gracy was OK not the hype I'd rave about.
  5. Chicken biryani was OK - I've had better in other restaurants around Canberra. Too much pepper ruining the authentic taste.
  6. Atmosphere was ordinary. No good deco - just cheap tinmber nailed to the wall - Carpenter couldn't event hammer it in properly with bent nails stilling out in shoddy paint job. Posters just stuck in place reminding that this is an Indian restaurant combined with couple of fake leaves wall from bunnings. The music was above average volume with Punjabi songs playing. Someone turned on the TV and started playing music videos from Youtube.... with scenes of gun and other violence (breaking glass bottle on someone's head who was looking at a girl) We were there with kids!! Are we teaching this to society now days that its cool to watch this sort of junk in an Indian restaurant? -

Frankly, I would...

We didn’t actually dine here. It was open on Christmas Day and had good reviews so we booked and turned up at the booking time. They didn’t have a table set up for our booking so we waited as the one waitress for the entire restaurant moved tables around for us to seat. The menu has many mistakes, this felt like a cheap place but the menu prices said otherwise. The place is small and with other 5 tables full, with only one waitress, we waited for quite a while before we ordered our drinks and asked for water. Then we waited and waited with no drinks and no water and no one to take our food order. Another party came in, the one and only waitress again got busy cleaning up a table to set it up for the new party. By this time the obnoxiously loud and headache inducing music had become too much and we walked out. That’s it, no comment...

We were visiting from Sydney and decided to eat dinner here. Glad we did because we had such a fantastic experience! It is one of the most authentic Indian food experiences in Australia. We ordered Paneer Tikka Masala, Malai Kofta, Daal Tadka, Tandoori Rotis and Cheese Garlic Naan and can’t fault a single item. Everything was delicious and tasted just the way it does in India. Most importantly, the spice level was just right and the food doesn’t make you feel very full (which usually is the case with Indian food). At the end of the meal, the staff gave us complimentary ice cream as well which once again is local only to India. The service was top notch and the staff who served us was very polite. Overall, I’d highly recommend this restaurant for those looking for authentic...

Absolutely Outstanding Experience! One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever visited. The food is rich in authentic flavors, cooked to perfection, and served fresh every time. Every dish—from the chicken tikka masala to the chole bhatura naan, and chilly chicken was absolutely delicious. The staff are warm, welcoming, and truly care about the customer experience. The ambiance is relaxing and clean, making it perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. The best Gulab Jamun I’ve ever had! Soft, warm, and perfectly sweet—melted in the mouth. It was the perfect end to a perfect meal. Highly recommended to anyone looking for real Indian taste with great service. Will definitely be coming back againā¤ļøā¤ļø šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘ Five stars well-deserves

One of the best Indian Foods in Canberra, my whole family enjoyed it. I’m from Singapore, Indian food in Singapore is amazing, this restaurant reminded me of well cooked Indian food. Garlic Cheese naan with the butter chicken was amazing. We saw reviews on the butter chicken pizza, that was good as well, the cheese and butter chicken melted in my mouth. Another good one was the garlic cheese bread. Chicken tiki was good too. Oh and my chai was perfect. Lastly they send one of our orders wrongly to another table, they quickly did a service recovery and gave us complimentary ice cream. Good job!

Tried Gravy ā€˜N’ More for dinner last night. Delicious and authentic Indian food šŸ².The paneer tikka garlic bread and the daal makhni with some chilli naans were the perfect vegetarian choices for my meat free Monday night. The restaurant offers a range of garlic breads and pizzas with Indian flavours like paneer tikka, butter chicken etc., along with a range of Indian entrees and curries, which is not something I’ve seen offered at an Indian restaurant in Canberra before. They are located on Giles st, next to local press wholefoods. Would highly recommend people to try them out
