I have frequented Guzman Y Gomez at the Canberra Centre, but unfortunately, my experiences have not been great. While the food has been alright on some occasions, I have had a couple of incidents that have left me quite disappointed. One time, I ordered the nacho fries, but I could see from the kitchen that they had accidentally made nachos instead. Even though they knew they made a mistake, they still handed me the wrong item, and I had to ask for the correct order.
Recently, I ordered through Menulog and received a medium chips instead of a large. On another occasion, the chicken in my Cali burrito was completely burnt to the point where I couldn't eat it. And this time, the chicken was completely raw. I messaged the Guzman account on Instagram, but I haven't heard back from them. When I contacted Menulog for a refund, they said they won't give me one because stores have different styles of cooking, which I find unacceptable.
Overall, I am disappointed with my experiences at Guzman Y Gomez. While the food has been alright on some occasions, the incidents where my orders were wrong, burnt, or raw were quite off-putting. And the fact that I haven't received a response from the store on Instagram or any support from Menulog makes me even more disappointed. I hope that the store can improve on their quality control and customer service...
Read moreDecided to come here for dinner because it was highly recommended. We were utterly disappointed in what we got. Each of us got the 2 tacos in a meal, so that is 6 tacos in total (all hard shell), and due to public holidays, there is a 15% surcharge, which is the highest I've ever come across, the total was over $60.The fries were lackluster and didn't have a great Chipotle kick, also included quite a few green ones. The pork hard shell taco was absolutely drenched, I could hardly pick it up, it was like a piece of bread that had been bathing for 2 days. I requested mild and it was bland. The beef brisket I requested to be spicy, this one wasn't soggy, but was once again bland. The Sprite I drank had more personality and flavour. The crispy chicken tacos were also extremely bland and just unpleasant. Another issue was that on one of the beef brisket tacos, it was requested to add on sour cream and was indeed paid for, but there wasn't a single drop of it. The presentation was like it was just thrown together and looked sad, workers looked done with life. Definitely not worth the money, and definitely won't be going to another Guzman y...
Read moreI've always enjoyed dining at Guzman y Gomez, and this visit was no exception in terms of taste—the food was as flavorful and satisfying as what I've come to expect from other branches. However, there were a couple of things that stood out during this visit.
Firstly, I noticed that the portions in the Bowl I ordered seemed smaller than usual, which was a bit disappointing. It could have been an off day, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re expecting a hearty meal.
Secondly, I arrived close to closing time, and while I understand that the staff need to prepare for the end of their shift, it was clear that their focus had shifted more towards cleaning up and getting ready to close rather than providing the usual attentive service. This is understandable, but it did affect the overall experience slightly.
Overall, while the food remains consistently good across locations, I’d recommend visiting earlier in the day to get the full experience without any of these minor...
