Mart Deli — Restaurant in District of Canberra Central

Don’t get me wrong, this deli has fabulous products. I’ve been shopping here for years. However I had the worst customer service this morning, when an item scanned at the wrong price (ie scanned higher than what was in the label). I immediately notified the lady serving me and from that point, I felt like a liar and like I just wanted to take advantage of the situation. We went together to the aisle where I showed her the label. She was unfriendly and rude telling me “well the label is wrong!” We went back to check out, I was expecting to pay the label price but NO! She entered the higher price on the eftpos machine and quickly handed it over to me. I tapped my card and almost didn’t notice!!! I felt a bit frustrated when I checked the receipt. She made such a scene when I spoke up. She ignored me and went back in the aisle to rip off all the incorrect labels, leaving me there. Waiting. Another staff member had to intervene. In the end, I did get the advertised price for what I bought. If I had known it would have been such a drama, I would have not said anything. Her reaction was totally unexpected. Sorry deli mart but you’ve lost a loyal customer (and all that for 50 cents!)...

I adore this deli. It's like an old friend. It has high quality, good value products - and always everything I need. The service is excellent - Barb the manager is amazing - she runs a great store and takes care of each and every customer. I have been coming here for years, hosting all of my small to milestone events with Mart Deli's goods. I love this place and will never go...

Fabulous deli with a ton of options. Great meat counter and I love the variety of things like sausages and other cold cuts and prepared pies, pasties, and similar.
