ScoMo 1 feb 21 There are five priority areas that I want to speak about today in relation to 2021. Suppress the virus and deliver the vaccine; Cement our economic recovery to create jobs and more jobs; To continue to guarantee the essential services that Australians rely on; Protect and secure Australians’ interests in a challenging world; and Care for our Country So let’s talk about the virus and the vaccine. We enter 2021 in a relatively strong position and I acknowledge the great leadership of our Health Minister, Greg Hunt, in taking us through this difficult period. Our 2020 achievements have bought valuable time on vaccines, to ensure they are safe and can be effectively rolled out across our population. But even with the roll out of the vaccine, there can be no let-up in the three vital suppression measures that have served Australia so well in 2020 and must be the focus of continuous improvement throughout 2021.

We were in the audience for Insiders on 2 July. Great fun to watch the creation of the show. For those hard of hearing, it was a bridge too far in the room, but a catch viewing on TV means nothing was missed. The NPC auditorium is a quite intimate space. The breakfast was very nice.

Had my first visit to the National Press Club and really enjoyed it. Super friendly staff. Chilled atmosphere. Excellent food and all reasonably priced. It has a lovely history with great photos of past prime ministers and events lining the walls… glad we have membership…

Went to enjoy Friday night jazz to listen to the Sally Marett Trio with Brendan Clarke (Bass Guitar) and Greg Stott (Guitar). Knew the music would be fabulous. Super impressed with the new decor and the fantastic quality of the bar food menu. Even more impressed with the superb salad produced by executive chef Darren Tetley to meet my particular dietary requirements. Bar staff were cheerful and professional. Bathrooms impressive and immaculately clean. Thoroughly enjoyable 10/10 NPC....

Nice staff. Good drinks, prices and quality is wonderful as are the selection of drinks. Food should be improved, atmosphere should be more upbeat and improved, Jazz music was not toe tapping or inspiring in any way. Management should consider what does it take to make them choose to go there, then make it like that and the crowd will...
