Went for an event they had on where it was a set menu and paired wines if chosen. Service was mixed. Sometimes you got a meal other times you had to ask where it was especially after everyone else was served. Happened to numerous tables. Food had its moments too and was a little hit and miss. If you have a set menu you know your numbers and no table should have to wait. Waitresses seemed a little inexperienced. The chef was passionate and took onboard all of the feedback but it came across like it was their first event and have some improvements to make. They would take your unused cutlery and then replace it with freshly washed cutlery which seemed like a waste to then not have to use it or they told you to keep your used cutlery for the next dish. Portions at the table differed too as did the wine levels. If you would like to know how a restaurant does a top quality event, I suggest attending one at Marble and Grain. You can learn a...

Entree plates were delivered to the table in a pile with the cutlery stacked on top, we had to set our own table. The wine was also just placed on the table unopened. Fish of the day was trout, you don't see trout very often as fish of the day but being Italian restaurant I thought great. When you see trout on a menu you expect a freshwater fish not ocean trout which was actually served. I tried to explain this to the waitress but she totally oblivious to what trout actually was so I didn't push the point and its more than likely not her fault but the person who wrote the menu.
Entrees were great but the mains and service mediocre.
I did send a polite email directly to the restaurant but with no reply. Obviously they don't really care about what the public...

Our mezze maniche was exquisite and the spaghetti puttanesca, with a goat cheese twist, was fabulous. Our dolci, torta della nonna and millefoglie, were equally excellent. The wine list was also a pleasant surprise. A good mix of domestic and Italian wines for reasonable prices. Each item on the menu has a wine suggestion which is a genuinely good idea but I would extend it to the desserts also. I paired my torta della nonna with a fine glass of Moscato but I had to look for it and nearly missed it on the wine menu.
We’ve had some outstanding meals during our one month Australian trip and this one ranks at the very top....
