I did hope to be writing a positive review, however there were so many clusters where this evening went wrong due to poor management.
I attended a friends birthday gathering of about 40 people. One of the attendees was elderly and uses a walker to assist. Despite parking in the disabled car park by the entrance, he was unable to gain access to the bowling green due to steps…. No biggy, we managed to assist him down the stairs and made do. We arrived at the bar, to be greeted by what appeared to be a rather green crew on there first night out of RSA… all good, happy to see people learn. I was greeted by a young gentleman yawning in my face (it was 5.30pm Friday) Clearly a long day. He proceeded to incorrectly charge us and forgot drinks on our order. Again, no biggy…… happy to see people learn on the job.
That was the first round…. It got worse from there.
As a small business owner myself, if I had staff standing around chatting amongst themselves whilst the queue is growing longer out the door with patrons happy to spend there money ….. I don’t know who I’d sack first. The manager or the floor staff. An absolute shocker!
I then placed my dinner order, as they were clearly so busy after waiting 25 minutes for a drink.
I checked on my order at 30 minutes and was told it was on the way…. I checked again @ 50 minutes & asked for a refund.
Such a shame as our dish turned up as I walked out of the bar and was told it had been “sitting there for 40 minutes” … tonight was not my night to come undone by food poisoning.
I have heard people speak fondly of the RUC, I do hope this was an isolated incident… one I will not forget in a hurry & probably...
Read moreMy son attended the club last night and before getting past the front desk the staff mis-placed his drivers licence.
After handing over his card to sign in the receptionist mis placed it and advised my son there wasnt anything that could be done. Asked if they could make an announcement to patrons to see if anyone has picked it up by mistake the staff advised it was not possible. Instead being advised it was too busy to make an announcement and they were not prepared to stop the music for 30 seconds to assist.
Also advised that no one who was in the club had authority to check the tapes to see who it was inadvertently handed to, despite the owner apparently being in the club.
Was told there was over 1000 people in the club last night, be interesing to know the maximum occupancy allowed.
Too many people in the club for staff to handle and instead of taking 5 minutes out to help someone they just wanted to get as many people in as possible with no regard for patron safety and well-being.

Read moreWe are writing as loyal members of The Ruc, and would like the space to share our concerns regarding the decline in quality of food. To be specific the burger night. We would like to begin by saying that the chicken burger used to be good, the size and quality of the breast was great. HOWEVER for the past few weeks the burgers have been unsatisfying, instead of a chicken breast we were served a chicken NUGGET. Now we were willing to put this in the past, as it may have been a 1 off. But this issue has not resolved, and nuggets are being continually served. Adding to this the wait times have increased dramatically, leaving us to wait over an hour for our disappointing chicken burger. You would think that because it is taking so long to cook that it would be fresh and hot. Wrong again, it’s cold. Thoroughly disappointed with The Ruc. And we are seriously reconsidering our loyalty to this once great...
