I used to be a regular customer here until around 6 months ago. I bought and paid for 2 pork rolls and they were quite busy. While I waited in the shop I watched as the older lady went from serving at the till walk over to the bread rolls, picking up a few of them with the same ungloved hand that she used for the till. I was so disgusted that I walked out without the rolls or a refund. The pate which always used to be lovely and fresh looked pretty awful and like it was dried up sitting in some sort of grease. I'm sorry I really want to love this place as I've been going there for years, but it's gone downhill and the 1 star is for lack of hygiene. This is the best Banh Mi Thiet or Vietnamese pork roll in Canberra. Made fresh unlike other places in Canberra and reasonably priced (for Canberra). My roll was on proper tiger bread (unlike other places in Canberra), packed with ingredients and with extra fresh chilli and coriander. Have had the pleasure of trying the pork banh mi, the beef pho, and the Vietnamese ice coffee - all are wonderful. Consistently the best pork banh mi I've had in Canberra. Crispy bread rolls, and a good ratio of spreads-meat-veggies. The ice coffee is so good but I recommend letting the ice melt for a while otherwise it will be drunk too quick!
